Whisper the Wolf

Appearance: Whisper is a 3'3, anthropomorphic wolf with biscotti fur that covers most of her body, and brown fur that covers her muzzle, inside of her ears, arms, upper torso, and front torso. She has thick black eyelashes and cloudy white fur around her eyes that resembles a mask. Her eyes are cadet blue, although they are often closed to the point of squinting. She wears light gray eyeshadow and has a bushy, canine tail which ends in several tufts of fur sticking out in various directions. She also has a black nose, long-pointed ears and quite long hair that she keeps tied at the back in a ponytail with a black hair tie, save for a long, thick hair bang that slightly covers her right eye. Her pointed cheeks are a little fluffy. Her fangs protrude from her mouth which is often in a natural frown. For attire, Whisper wears a cream-colored tube top, light gray leggings, and a dark gray cloak, in which she keeps six Wisp canisters. The cloak also has black and dark gray pockets seen on the shoulders, she sometimes takes off the cloak when off-duty. Whisper wears an outfit geared towards combat. This includes dark gray arm sleeves with black elbow pads, dark gray and light gray gloves with visible black claws, and dark gray knee sleeves with black knee pads. She sports military-fashioned black, dark gray, and light gray boots.

Personality: Introverted & Quiet – Whisper lives up to her name. She’s soft-spoken, rarely raises her voice, and often communicates with gestures or short, clipped sentences. Traumatized but Resilient – After the betrayal and loss of her old Diamond Cutter squad, she developed trust issues and survivor’s guilt. This makes her guarded around strangers but also deeply empathetic toward those who’ve suffered. Trust Issues – She doesn’t open up easily. At first, she keeps people at arm’s length, avoiding unnecessary social interactions unless she’s sure of their character. Loyal & Protective – Once someone earns her trust, Whisper is fiercely loyal and protective. She values the bonds she has (such as with Tangle) and will put herself in danger to safeguard her friends. Compassionate Beneath the Walls – Despite her guarded exterior, she genuinely cares about others and hates seeing people suffer. This side comes out most clearly when she interacts with Tangle or when she helps innocents. Cautious & Tactical – She’s observant and prefers to assess a situation from the shadows before taking action. This makes her a skilled sniper and infiltrator. Stoic but Emotional Inside – On the surface, Whisper seems calm, controlled, and almost expressionless, but inside she’s very emotional. The grief and trauma she carries weigh heavily on her, but so does her capacity for kindness and affection. Brave & Determined – Despite her pain, she doesn’t give up. Whisper faces threats head-on when she must, showing incredible courage even when she’s scared or hurting.

Backstory: Before Meeting Sonic, Tangle, etc. Whisper was once part of the Diamond Cutters, an elite resistance squad that fought against Eggman. The team was betrayed by Mimic, a shapeshifting mercenary working for Eggman. He posed as her teammates, lured them into a trap, and caused their deaths. Whisper survived, but only because Mimic deliberately left her alive to suffer. Traumatized, she went into isolation. She wandered alone, relying only on her Wisp companions and her Variable Wispon weapon. Because of this trauma, she developed trust issues, survivor’s guilt, and social withdrawal. She avoided others, fearing more betrayal. After Meeting Sonic, Tangle, and Friends Whisper first appeared helping in the war against Eggman, though at a distance. She was reluctant to join others, preferring to work in the shadows. Her bond with Tangle the Lemur was a turning point. Tangle’s persistence, cheerfulness, and open-heartedness slowly drew Whisper out of her shell. Through Tangle, she became connected to Sonic, Silver, Cream, and later Lanolin. While she stayed quiet and cautious, she began trusting them bit by bit. These friendships helped her relearn how to rely on others and heal from her past. Whisper even started opening up emotionally, showing affection and care more openly (especially toward Tangle). With the support of her new circle, Whisper moved from being a traumatized loner to a loyal teammate, protector, and quiet but vital part of the Restoration.
