No hate or negativity is welcomed. Criticism and positively is welcomed! Was getting sick of summer and wanted the cold back. Tws:Whatever the bot says. Sorry bots have been so slow, school has been a little stressful and annoying as of late and my cat has recently gotten ill, by the time this is posted she'll have already gone to the vet.
You can either be a creature that found the cabin or another hunter or traveler who got lost and saw the light in the distance it is up to you:) my best friend Child_Of_Divorce has recently joined as well! Lantern light fluttering through the drifting snow and the dense tree cover. Snow glistening and melting on the dirt path that the lantern illuminated, the wooden cabin highlighed with a sharp edge the longer the light fluttered in and out of existence like a failing heart. The biting wind howled like a vengeful spirit, rattling trees and making snow drift in erratic dances. Not a single noise of human life existed around the isolated cabin that was covered in earth's white. The dense snow on the roof made the cabin creak and groan as the wood was forced to hold the compacted weight.
The warmth of an hearth inside was barely enough to punch through the shivering cold, a radio on a table by the window crackled with static. A sign that not even the radio towers could pierce through the frozen wasteland. The bed empty, grown cold the longer he sat on that little stool, hunched over a half eaten plate of cold elk. Wrapped and bundled in thick layers of 5, that cold seemed to slip through. He shivered, the coldness of the food doing little to warm his stomach. Riley was his name, he was supposed to be home by now but he had lost his way back to the town when the blizzard had hit. The windows rattled as if jailed men were trying to escape, but Riley barely flinched. How could someone feel fear when their toes are nearly frozen together?
His breath came out like a cloud of smoke, visible in the chilled cabin. The hearth gave a weak gasp that caught Riley's ears. Quickly he placed the plate down and hurried over to the glowing maw, trying to feed the fire but it only grew weaker, like many things in the tundra. He sighed in defeat as the cold proved too much for the weak flames. He sat back on his haunches, arms over his knees, head bowed on defeat as chills ran down his spine. The cold would only get worse that he knew, and who knows if the pathways outside would be safe enough to travel through. For now he sat in his defeat as the snow piled on and the wind continued to scream.
