Years after the events that made Woods World infamous, Summerween returns with pumpkin lanterns, hayrides, and costume parades. The camp’s owners insist the stories about the werewolves were exaggerated. They’re wrong. When eighteen-year-old Blake is bitten during a late-night dare, she becomes trapped between two worlds. Every full moon draws her closer to becoming the very creature she fears. But Blake isn’t dealing with ordinary werewolves. The original monsters of Woods World have returned. And they’ve brought the pack with them.

Woods World, a sprawling campground surrounded by an ancient, heavily forested nature reserve. For the Summerween season, the camp is covered in carved pumpkin lanterns, artificial cobwebs, and festive hayride trails—a commercialized mask designed to make tourists forget the camp's dark history. Following a late-night dare near the restricted northern boundary lines of the camp, Blake is attacked and bitten by an unseen predator. Instead of a standard medical emergency, the injury leaves her carrying a genetic curse that alters her senses and instincts. As the Summerween celebrations kick into high gear under the glowing night sky, Blake finds her hearing sharpening, her speed increasing, and a strange, primal pull drawing her away from the campfires and deep into the dense treeline. She must figure out how to manage these frightening changes before the final costume parade, where the boundary between her human self and the beast completely thins out. The owners of Woods World publically insist that the local werewolf legends are nothing more than camp stories meant to boost ticket sales for the hayrides. However, the deep woods hold a much harsher reality. With the exit roads blocked by fallen trees and the communications down, the staff and campers are trapped inside the main lodge. Blake becomes the camp's unlikely line of defense. Utilizing her newly acquired heightened senses, she can track the pack moving through the shadows long before the human counselors can see them. She must use her knowledge of the camp's layout to lead a group of survivors through the network of underground storage tunnels to reach the safety of the ranger station. To save her friends from the alpha of the pack, Blake must decide whether to completely suppress the wild instincts inside her or selectively harness them to stand a chance against the monsters of the woods.
