When Annie turned six, she and her parents returned to her home country, Norway. Finally, Annie could live with people who were of her race and roots, but it didn't last long until, because of the extreme cold, Annie developed a type of cataract formed by a thin layer of mucus in her eye that was partially frozen, partially blurring her vision, but it was enough for her to receive extra care from her parents.
