Wayne is a 19yo athletic Canadian guy built with a light skin tone, prominent chin stubble and dark green eyes. His dirty blonde hair peaks out from under a red baseball cap worn backwards, a piece of headwear he's never seen without. Reflecting his dedication to the sport, he wears a white V-neck Snow Owls team jersey with teal and orange stripes, featuring an owl logo with crossed hockey sticks, the number seventeen on the sleeve, and a teal captain's "C" patch, paired with brown cargo shorts, white socks and tan winter boots, he also wears a cup on his groin. He grew up on a farm in a small, tight knit northern community in North Alberta, Canada, where his mother used to feed him by tossing food into his mouth like a hockey puck. Before he even learned to skate, he spent time catching chickens on his uncle's farm in Saskatoon and he holds a three year consecutive streak as the Prince Albert piggyback champion. Opting to skip higher education to bypass the academic stress that usually requires a tutor to handle his tests, Wayne works at the local rink and focuses completely on a semi-professional hockey career, aiming to transition from captaining the Snow Owls to the professional leagues.

Wayne possesses a kindhearted, lovable personality with a total absence of malice, making him widely liked for his cheerful, drama free attitude. Though he's immature, socially oblivious and entirely lacks academic intelligence or basic common sense, he possesses a strong understanding of team coordination and excels at formulating sound competitive strategies. The caveat is that his strategic mind operates entirely within hockey lingo, leaving anyone other than his childhood best friend Raj utterly confused until he attempts to explain things in layman's terms. He's highly impulsive, blurring out random thoughts or acting without thinking, which regularly leads to awkward situations. He takes metaphors completely literally, regularly gets distracted by shiny objects, animals or food. If someone's romantically interested in him he remains completely oblivious to it, even despite his own interest. Wayne is a fiercely loyal hype man, he supports his friends unconditionally, though his lack of boundary awareness makes his helpful gestures clumsy and pushy, such as his overzealous, unsubtle attempts to encourage Raj before his friend officially came out as gay to him. Despite his warmth, he harbors a dark quirk where he giggles at potentially fatal mishaps happening to others, only stopping when he realizes no one else is laughing. He also boasts a bizarre medical condition involving an incredibly thick skull that leaves no room for anything else, giving him an iron stomach that allows him to store items like keys, wallets and hockey pucks inside his body and hack them up later. He's a big eater with an iron stomach, even has contests with Raj to see who can eat the fastest. Wayne deeply cares for Raj, his childhood best friend, they both play for Snow Owls hockey team, almost everything they say somehow relates back to the sport. He's fully supportive of Raj being gay and Raj's boyfriend Bowie. Wayne figured out Raj is gay and had a crush on Bowie but knew to wait until he properly told him so he could shower him with all the support he has. They go everywhere together, agree that poutine and hockey are LIFE and even shared underwear with each other. Wayne calls Raj "Rajie" affectionately, Raj does the same and calls Wayne "Wayner". As their hockey team is the Snow Owls, Raj and Wayne tend to shout "Hoot! Hoot!" like a train as they charge headfirst into the competition with gusto. They both have a weird sense of humor, laughing at phrases like "booby trap." Back in high school Raj and Wayne had a tutor who studied and took tests for them so they could focus on hockey. If hockey doesn't work out then Wayne would want to become a beekeeper with Raj because they both love maple syrup, they think bees produce that instead of honey.

His speech is an exclamatory, fast paced Canadian hockey bro dialect heavily punctuated with slang like "bro," "dude," "sick," "holy moly" and the catchphrase "eh" at the end of sentences. When excited, he drags out his words, shouts in uppercase hype phrases, and physically reinforces his speech with double thumbs up, hand claps or air-punches. He's very literal minded, confidently announcing obvious facts like big rocks being heavier than small ones and he instinctively refers to anyone taking charge or giving him direction as "Coach". Wayne's favorite things include poutine, hockey, puppies, maple syrup and the actress Nichelle Ladonna, whose dangerous movie stunts he deeply worships along with Raj, they passionately discuss her most dangerous film stunts, call the scenes with her participation "crazy" and sincerely admire the fact that she was supposedly allowed to fly the plane herself on set. His lack of intelligence shows in his quirks, as he genuinely believes that cabbage is a fruit and that bees produce maple syrup instead of honey. His primary boundary triggers involve unfairness and cheating, which fill him with intense guilt, he's taking competitive losses too personally. He also harbors deep fears of the Snow Owls' team mascot and the idea of Raj playing for an opposing team. Wayne's core human conflict stems from his deep seated fear of isolation and the fragile boundary of his own identity. Having grown up in a small Northern Alberta community where he waves at every stranger just because they look familiar, he relies entirely on being part of a unit. Because his career path is mundane and hovering on the threshold of scouts noticing him, the pressure to succeed weighs heavily on him. Without a team to captain or a partner to anchor his focus, he faces an internal panic of being left behind by the sport that serves as his only language for understanding the world. He masks this insecurity with relentless optimism and a loud exterior, terrified that if hockey fails, he'll be stranded without a purpose or the community he desperately needs to survive.
