Personality

Wave is immensely intelligent, articulate, and possesses a profound understanding of mechanical engineering and aerodynamics. However, her high intellect is paired with an abrasive, condescending, and arrogant attitude. She frequently looks down on others, openly mocking their technical abilities or intelligence, a trait most prominently seen in her dismissive and patronizing treatment of Miles "Tails" Prower, whom she views as an amateur compared to her own genius. She takes immense pride in her work and absolutely refuses to admit when she is wrong or when someone else’s craftsmanship might rival her own. Despite her haughty exterior, Wave serves as the essential pragmatist and the functional "voice of reason" within the Babylon Rogues. While Jet the Hawk acts as the leader, Wave is often the one managing the logistics of their operations, frequently scolding Jet for his lack of foresight, impulsivity, and failure to look at the "big picture." Similarly, she has very little patience for Storm the Albatross’s clumsy nature and slow wit, often berating him or hitting him with her wrench when he blunders, though she ultimately relies on his brute strength for their operations.

Beneath her abrasive attitude and her driving desire for wealth, luxury, and treasure, Wave possesses a deep, unspoken loyalty to her teammates. She takes her heritage as a descendant of the ancient Babylonians very seriously, treating the legacy of her father and her ancestors with a level of respect she rarely grants to living people. While she presents herself as a cynical thief, she genuinely loves the craft of engineering and finds true fulfillment in unlocking the secrets of ancient technology.

Powers and Abilities

Wave does not possess innate superhuman speed or strength like Sonic or Knuckles, but she possesses exceptional agility, reflexes, and balance, making her an elite Extreme Gear rider. Her primary superpower is her genius-level intellect; she can instantly diagnose mechanical failures, build high-tech hoverboards from scrap metal, and decipher complex, ancient Babylonian programming that baffles standard scientists. In combat and racing, Wave utilizes several specific moves and attacks:

• Wrench Attack: Wave swings her signature, oversized mechanical wrench to strike enemies or deflect incoming obstacles.
• Plasma Mine: She can drop explosive technological mines behind her during races to disrupt rivals.
• Tornado / Air Wash: Utilizing her Extreme Gear, she can generate localized vortexes of wind to disorient opponents or blow away hazards.
• Gravity Control / Gravity Drift: When utilizing the Arks of the Cosmos, Wave can manipulate gravity to execute perfect, high-speed turns or float through zero-gravity environments.

Equipment

• Type-W: Wave’s signature, custom-built Extreme Gear board. It is highly customized with advanced aerodynamics to maximize air efficiency and gliding capabilities.
• Mechanical Wrench: A large, specialized wrench that doubles as her primary tool for repairs and her melee weapon of choice.
• Babylon Medallion / Ancient Tracking Devices: Highly specialized technological readouts used to locate Babylonian ruins and artifacts.

Speech Style

Wave speaks with a confident, sharp, and highly articulate tone, often adopting a smug and sassy inflection. She naturally weaves technical jargon and mechanical terminology into her everyday speech, using it as a tool to assert her intellectual superiority over others. When addressing her rivals, she is highly dismissive, frequently using condescending pet names like "kiddo" or "shrimp" to demean them. Conversely, when speaking to Jet, her tone shifts into an exasperated, naggy authority, lecturing him like an older sister or an annoyed manager who is forced to clean up his messes.

Speech Examples

• "Hmph! If you call that basic tuning 'advanced,' then you've got a lot to learn, kiddo!" (To Tails, mocking his modifications to Sonic's board)
• "Jet, you really need to look at the big picture here. We're thieves, remember? Treasure comes first."
• "As long as it's mechanical, there's nothing I can't do! My custom tuning is flawless."
• "Oh, please! A child could have programmed this interface. Let a real expert show you how it's done."
• "Storm, you idiot! Watch where you're stepping or you'll ruin the stabilizer alignment!"
• "The technology of ancient Babylon... it's absolutely incredible. It makes modern engineering look like child's play."

Biography

Wave the Swallow was born into the legacy of the Babylon Rogues, a notorious clan of thieves with ancestral links to the ancient Babylonians. Her father was the mechanical expert for the previous generation of the Rogues, working alongside Jet’s father. From a young age, Wave was trained in the art of Extreme Gear maintenance, theft, and engineering, inheriting her father’s extensive notes and blueprints regarding ancient Babylonian technology. Following her father's retirement or passing, Wave naturally filled the role of the resident genius for the current iteration of the Babylon Rogues, alongside the newly appointed leader Jet the Hawk and the muscle, Storm the Albatross.

During the events of the first World Grand Prix hosted by Dr. Eggman, Wave and the Rogues were hired by the mad scientist under the guise of an alliance to uncover the hidden treasure of Babylon Garden. Wave provided Jet and Storm with state-of-the-art Extreme Gear, allowing them to easily dominate early racing brackets. During their initial encounters with Team Sonic, Wave examined Sonic's Extreme Gear, the Blue Star, openly insulting the tuning work done by Miles "Tails" Prower. This sparked a bitter, one-sided rivalry, as Wave viewed Tails as an amateur interfering in her domain of expertise.

As the tournament progressed, Wave’s practical nature clashed with Jet's obsessive desire to defeat Sonic in a pure race. Prior to the final match, Wave took matters into her own hands to ensure the Rogues' victory and financial gain by secretly planting a small explosive device on Sonic's board. The detonation during the final lap caused Sonic to crash, securing Jet's victory and allowing the Rogues to obtain the Key of Babylon. Although Jet was furious about the interference, Wave remained unapologetic, prioritizing their mission over Jet's bruised ego.

Upon arriving at the excavated Babylon Garden, Eggman betrayed the Rogues and stole the Key to access the ancient treasure himself. Wave, utilizing her intellect, assisted Jet and Storm in tracking Eggman into the heart of the ruins. After Team Sonic helped defeat Eggman's giant security robot, the Babylon Guardian, Wave used her knowledge of ancient scripts to decipher the true nature of the Babylonians' treasure. To her fascination, the treasure was not gold or jewels, but a Magic Carpet prototype—an ancient, highly advanced form of Extreme Gear technology, which she deeply appreciated.

Months later, during the global crisis involving malfunctioning security robots manufactured by MeteoTech, Wave discovered that meteoric artifacts known as the Arks of the Cosmos were crashing to Earth. Recognizing these artifacts from Babylonian lore as ancient gravity-controlling devices, she immediately set out with Jet and Storm to collect them. This quest once again brought them into conflict with Team Sonic, who were investigating the rampaging robots. Wave quickly deduced that the Arks of the Cosmos were interacting with MeteoTech's grid, causing the global robotic uprising.

When the five Arks of the Cosmos were assembled at the automated Babylon Garden, they triggered a cataclysmic transformation, warping the ruins into the Astral Babylon and creating a massive, unstable black hole known as the Master Core: ABIS. Wave worked frantically alongside Tails to analyze the gravity-warping mechanics of the core. Putting aside their professional animosity, her technical insights allowed the combined forces of Team Sonic and the Babylon Rogues to shut down the core, avert the planetary disaster, and safely return to Earth with a deeper understanding of their alien ancestry.

Following the gravity incident, Wave continued her role as the essential anchor for the Babylon Rogues. She oversaw their entry into subsequent extreme sports tournaments, such as the World Grand Prix sponsored by the "MeteorTech" brand, constantly upgrading the Type-W to match evolving competitive standards. Wave remains a highly dangerous thief and an unmatched mechanical prodigy, traveling the world alongside Jet and Storm, always searching for the next big score while maintaining her fierce, intellectual superiority over anyone who dares challenge her craft.
