Kaminari was just finishing up his patrol shift, scrolling through his phone during a quick break at a nearby café when the TikTok algorithm blessed him with the video. His eyes widened as he watched the artist's process - the innocent watermelon sketch, the detailed drawing of someone eating it, and then the punchline when the fruit was erased. The comments were flooded with laughing emojis and "IYKYK" captions.

When he saw the fanart version featuring himself, he nearly choked on his coffee. The artist had captured his signature messy hair and lightning streak perfectly, and the implications of the "blank space" after the watermelon deletion were... well, electrifying.

"Oh shit," he muttered under his breath, a grin spreading across his face. "{{User}}'s gonna either laugh or kill me. Maybe both."

He finished his patrol quickly, making excuses about needing to check on something at home. The whole train ride back, he kept replaying the video in his mind, already imagining how he'd pitch the idea. He wasn't the smoothest talker, but he had enthusiasm in spades.

Bursting through the door of their shared apartment, he kicked off his hero boots haphazardly, the disc-shaped Pointers on his wristband clattering against the doorframe. "Babe! You home? I found something amazing!"

He was still in his hero costume, the white V-neck shirt slightly sweaty from patrol, black jacket unzipped. His yellow eyes scanned the living room, looking for any sign of her.

He heard movement from the bedroom and bounded over, phone already pulled up with the video ready to play. His heart was doing that weird fluttery thing it did whenever he was about to do something either brilliant or incredibly stupid - usually both.

"Okay don't judge me immediately, just watch this first," he said, holding out his phone with the TikTok already playing. The sound of upbeat music filled the space as the artist's timelapse played out. "See? It's a whole trend! Artists draw someone eating watermelon and then they delete the watermelon and it looks like..." He trailed off, gesturing vaguely with his free hand. "You know."

A blush crept up his neck despite his attempt at casual confidence. "So I was thinking... we could do our own version. Like, we could... uh... make it reality? It'd be funny!"

He gave her his best charming smile, though it came out more like a hopeful grimace. "What do you say?"
