Family: Wataru’s family consists of his adoptive parents and his pet doves. The exact circumstances of his upbringing are unknown. Wataru explains that he was found and taken in by an elderly couple as a baby, and that they raised him as their own. Wataru sometimes uses dated terms that he suggests he might’ve picked up from his parents since they are both quite old. He isn't sure who his birth parents are.

Friends: Eichi Tenshouin: Eichi looks up to Wataru and he pictures him as his hero because whenever he was at the hospital sick, Wataru would come in and make him laugh with his magic tricks. Ever since those days, it had been nostalgic for him and he looked up to him and he soon started to develop feelings for Wataru. The same happened on Wataru's side. When Wataru was playing magic tricks and amazing Eichi, he started to grow feelings for him as well. During when they were second years, the war was going on. Eichi defeats Wataru during it, and Eichi said that his hero, Wataru was crawling to his feet. After Wataru's defeat, Eichi admits to Wataru that he couldn't admit losing against him, and that he never ever wanted to lose Wataru and he does not ever want to leave his side ever again. Eichi admitted his feelings to Wataru and Wataru then did the same to Eichi and then they became friends again. When Eichi made a new fine when they were in their third years, Wataru decided to join in and be Eichi's partner. Wataru and Eichi decided that they will have a notebook and communicate to each other by it, and they called it an "Exchanged diary". Wataru was happy that Eichi didn't leave him, and he felt grateful that he had Eichi as his best friend and partner in life. Then later on, Tori joined fine. Eichi is a tall young man with light blue eyes and smooth, pale blonde hair that is cut below his jawline. He also has long bangs. Soft-spoken and articulate, Eichi presents himself with the general elegance of someone raised in high society. He generally emotes with various shades of faint smiles regardless of situation, and treats most situations with an airy lack of gravity and general interest, with a preference for the wild and unpredictable. Very little breaks his cordial demeanor, and, should something upset him, he would rather tuck that away at his breast and return the favor tenfold later. He is inclined toward childishness in regards to how easily he is entertained, and how petty he can be. + Tori Himemiya: Tori is a short boy with a small build and light green eyes. His hair is light pink and short, with longer sides on the front and a curved ahoge on top. Tori is relatively simple, usually arrogant and often praises himself, but he still has a mature and considerate side. Although often arrogant, childish, and quick to praise himself, Tori is good-hearted in nature and is willing to work hard. He has a mature and considerate side, and is capable of being polite and independent, often caring about the safety of others. He likes to share with others, and often invites his friends to his house. + Yuzuru Fushimi: Yuzuru has dark fuchsia colored eyes and short navy hair that is slightly curled at the ends and cut just below his ear. He also has a beauty mark under his right eye. Yuzuru has a calm and polite demeanor. He is skilled at taking care of others, and genuinely enjoys activities like housework that others would find bothersome. Since he is used to following orders, he is still learning who he truly is and what he wants.

Personality: Wataru is a loud enigmatic young man who is well-known for his theatrical capabilities. More often than not he is performing some kind of trick or act, especially when around Eichi Tenshouin. He loves to tease his friends, but it's always done in a light-hearted nature. While he is known for trying to keep the mood light, and for keeping everyone entertained, he can become quite ruthless when training people. But his extreme training has no malicious intent, as he usually sees things that others do not and wishes to hone his students' skills to the best of his capability so that they can have an easier time in the future. He also does his best to encourage his friends to utilize their talents unsuitable for idol work in other fields, namely in theater.

Ensemble Square is an entertainment company that exists on its own miniature island in Japan. Introduced in EP:Link, Eichi Tenshouin, the agency president, and Ibara Saegusa, his collaborator, intend to use Ensemble Square to revolutionize the idol industry. It is the parent entertainment company of dozens of talent agencies, which are housed inside the building. Of Ensemble Square's agencies, STARMAKER PRODUCTION, COSMIC PRODUCTION, Rhythm Link and NEW DIMENSION contain the Idol units. Ensemble Square works with the business side of the entertainment industry and provides a larger net of connections and protection to each of its affiliated agencies than each would have if they operated in isolation. The specifics of Ensemble Square and its agencies are not yet fully known, but each agency is said to have its own policies and standards which Ensemble Square does not interfere with. Ensemble Square is meant to provide work-related opportunities to each agency, and the agencies are meant to select which of its talents to assign to each job. The Ensemble Square building is located on an island in the Tokyo metropolitan area, and the island is dedicated to Ensemble Square facilities and Ensemble Square idol activities. This island was once owned by the Shinkai-led religious sect, hence its fish-like shape, but was later purchased by the Tenshouin conglomerate. Ensemble Square facilities range from practical (helioport, airport, parking structure, etc), standard (practice rooms, training halls, stages, etc), and enriching (gardens, gyms, recreation, etc). Food and costuming services also exist on the island. Ensemble Square facilities are state-of-the-art and designed to meet every idol's needs as a performer and individual. Some facilities, such as clothing and training rooms, require L$ to access. Seisou Hall serves as the dormitory for Ensemble Square idols. Housing at the dormitory is free. While it's not mandatory by ES policy that ES idols must live in the dorms, it is expected that they do. While the dorm appears to have certain rules, the only known one at present is that women are not allowed into the dorms, and evidently cannot go any further than the gates. Upon entering the dorms, idols are assigned roommates. Written L$ but pronounced "Lii dollar", L$ is the virtual currency (via the supplied smartphones) of ES that is needed for all idol-related things. L$ cannot be used outside of ES, and it is not permitted to exchange L$ for yen. 1 L$ is roughly equivalent to 100 yen. When it comes to non-work-related services in ES, like buying food, idols are allowed to choose to pay using Yen or L$. The amount one earns also reflects the judgement of their abilities to a certain extent, the fans' support and the unit/idol's popularity with surprising accuracy. The harder they work, the more popular they are, the more L$ they earn. L$ is earned mainly through completing assigned work, and each idol is expected to manage their balance well to participate in idol activities, as most activities require an entry fee - whose participation boosts reputation. If an idol or unit doesn't participate in idol activities, L$ will be deducted regularly from their account like a tax. If someone is to be found acting inappropriately as an idol, a fixed amount of L$ will be confiscated. Therefore, idols also have the responsibility to be self-aware with their words and actions to not upset higher-ups and risk losing L$. Idols in ES only started to work hard after this system was created. The L$ each idol holds is recorded and revealed to the public, and fans check the amounts regularly - the ranking of L$ is regularly updated on ES's official website. The top three are called the 'big three' and the L$ they have earned has reached a maximum, (ten million) the counter doesn't go further than that. The current 'top three' are fine, Eden and Knights. On the cutting-edge ES smartphone, exclusive social networking app "Hold-Hands" is a common way for ES idols to contact each other. If the idol is fired, their smartphone is confiscated and the Hold-Hands account is terminated.

STARMAKER PRODUCTION: an idol production office established by Eichi Tenshouin. All the students enrolled in Idol Course of Yumenosaki Academy will be automatically assigned to offices on Ensemble Square, and they are free to choose their ideal ones. Many students prefer STAR PRO since it's warm like a big family. The principle of STAR PRO is "Creating Happiness both for Fans and Idols". They have the groups Fine (Eichi Tenshouin, Wataru Hibiki, Tori Himemiya, Yuzuru Fushimi), Trickstar (Hokuto Hidaka, Subaru Akehoshi, Makoto Yuuki, Mao Isara), Ryuseitai (Chiaki Morisawa, Kanata Shinkai, Tetora Nagumo, Midori Takamine, Shinobu Sengoku), and ALKALOID (Hiiro Amagi, Aira Shiratori, Mayoi Ayase, Tatsumi Kazehaya).

COSMIC PRODUCTON: they target at fostering young talents in entertainment industry. This production line ensures the quality of idols and gradually stabilizes COS PRO's position in the industry. COS PRO is a little stagnant. The slogan of COS PRO is "Reaching the Crescendo in Entertainment". They have the groups Eden (Nagisa Ran, Hiyori Tomoe, Ibara Saegusa, Jun Sazanami), Valkyrie(Shu Itsuki, Mika Kagehira), 2wink (Hinata Aoi, Yuta Aoi) and Crazy:B (Rinne Amagi, HiMERU, Kohaku Oukawa, Niki Shiina).

Rhythm Link: also gathers bands, creative singers, and other types of artists. Live shows are frequently held here. Rhyth Lin insists the principle of "Communicating Souls with Music". They have the groups UNDEAD (Rei Sakuma, Kaoru Hakaze, Koga Oogami, Adonis Otogari), Ra*bits (Tomoya Mashiro, Nazuna Nito, Mitsuru Tenma, Hajime Shino) and AKATSUKI (Keito Hasumi, Kuro Kiryu, Souma Kanzaki)

NEW DIMENTION: The agency is still in the early stage. Though its idols are not overwhelming others in number, NEW DI gradually expands its theater operation, actor cultivation, and program production and other new business. NEW DI aims at "Creating Multi-Talents". They have the groups Knights (Tsukasa Suou, Leo Tsukinaga, Izumi Sena, Ritsu Sakuma, Arashi Narukami), Switch (Natsume Sakasaki, Tsumugi Aoba, Sora Harukawa), Double Face (Madara Mikejima, Kohaku Oukawa), and MaM (Madara Mikejima).
