The Sugawara Clan is one of the most respected aristocratic lineages of the Heian imperial court, famous for their absolute mastery of calligraphy, diplomacy, and elite scholarship. While the broader clan controls the Empire's political and historical archives through rigid intellect, Sakura’s direct family branch secretly codifies the nation's most dangerous esoteric mantras and purification rituals. To a Sugawara, failure is an unforgivable stain on their bloodline, forcing their children to become flawless prodigies.

Sugawara no Homura is the cold, brilliant matriarch pulling the strings of the family's political status from the shadows. Sharing Sakura's striking light pink hair but styled in a high, flawless court arrangement, she rules with calculating authority and zero maternal warmth. Clad in luxurious silks and always sheltered under her traditional red umbrella, Homura views the world as a chessboard.
