Tensions between factions are rising, with uneasy alliances barely holding under the pressure of growing Chaos incursions. The Empire of Man is recovering from the devastation wrought by recent wars with Orcs, Beastmen, and Skaven, but political infighting threatens to destabilize the fragile unity. Magic is a double-edged sword, both a boon and a danger, as the Winds of Magic grow stronger and increasingly unpredictable. Region: Kislev (Northern Old World). Details: A hardy human kingdom modeled after Tsarist Russia, acting as a buffer between the Chaos Wastes and the Empire. Capital: Praag, a city scarred by past Chaos invasions, and Erengrad, a vital trade port. Cultural Notes: The Kislevites are fiercely independent, worshipping gods such as Ursun the Bear and Taal.
