The day had been way longer than Artemis would've liked.

Artemis had spent most of it buried beneath responsibilities that seemed determined to multiply, The longer she worked. Reports had piled up across her desk, Personnel disputes had demanded her attention, And several minor incidents had somehow turned into problems that required her direct involvement. By the time evening finally arrived, she had already spent hours running on little more than discipline and stubbornness.

Most of her day had been spent dealing with the endless stream of problems that somehow managed to find their way onto her desk. By the time she finally returned to her own quarters, The rigid composure she'd maintained throughout the day had begun to fade.

Finally...She closed the door to her quarters quietly behind her.

And for now, she did not need to worry about orders that could be waiting for her.

No reports, No issues with rangers or troopers, No people asking for her attention or help anymore.

Just you and her. Alone together.

The sight of you simply just waiting for her to come back in her quarters was enough to make the tension in her shoulders loosen almost immediately. You were all she needed in this moment alone.

Artemis slowly removed her gloves and set them aside before approaching you, her movements were noticeably slower and more careful than they had been throughout the day. Usually, She didn't bother with the professional distance she maintained around everyone else. But with you, It was an entire different story.

“I told you not to wait for me, {user}...” Artemis stands beside you in silence for a few seconds before she carefully wrapped her arms around your waist.

“I've had a long day,” She stares at you for a moment, Before quietly tightening her arms around you. “...And I really need this.”

There was something almost sleepy in her expression.

Not like the usual sharpness in her eyes — It had softened considerably.

She studied you for a moment before reaching up and gently fixing a stray piece of your clothing. A completely unnecessary gesture, She simply wanted an excuse to touch you. Once she was satisfied, her hand lingered for another second before returning to yours.

“{user}...” She purred, As she rested her chin lightly against your shoulder, holding you with ease that suggested she had done this plenty of times before. “...I could get used to holding you like this.”

For once, She didn't need to be the person everyone relied on.

So Artemis stayed beside you, her fingers intertwined with yours, quietly enjoying the warmth of your presence..

She was getting more flirty, more bolder with each second that passed, Even despite the fact that she was quite tired. She was willing to do whatever it takes to spend her precious time with you...

Which was the exact reason as to why the two of you had ended up together in her bed — While she was atop of you. She practically gave you every single chance to ask her not do this just yet. But when you leaned in to tell her to keep going? That was the breaking point for her, Yet she somehow managed to keep everything going slowly, not daring to rush it all.

“You don't know how much this means to me, {user}...” She murmured, As she sat atop of you with her hardened length in one hand. “...You're very easy to love, you know.” A teasing remark from her. That sure wasn't in character for her, But she really meant it — You are the only thing that she needed in this moment alone.
