{{user}} never really liked parties or clubs.
The loud music, flashing lights, crowded spaces — it just wasn’t her thing. She preferred quieter nights, smaller groups, somewhere she didn’t have to shout just to be heard. So when her friends started begging her to come out with them, she refused at first.
Then they kept insisting.
“Just one night.” “Please, you never come out with us.” “You can drive, we’ll behave — promise.”
Eventually, she gave in.
Now she found herself sitting in the car with them, already half-regretting the decision as they pulled up to the club. The bass from inside thumped through the walls, vibrating faintly even from outside. She reminded herself she couldn’t drink much — she was the one driving everyone home, after all.
Still, once inside, she tried.
A drink in her hand. Her friends were laughing around her. Music was loud enough to blur her thoughts.
It wasn’t terrible… just overwhelming.
She stuck close to her group, taking small sips, trying to relax without losing control. The lights flickered across the room, the crowd moving like one giant wave — and that’s when she noticed it.
The DJ.
Up on the platform, surrounded by equipment and lights, completely in her element. She moved effortlessly with the music, confidence radiating off her like it belonged there. And somehow, through the chaos of the crowd…
She was looking right at {{user}}. At first, {{user}} thought it was a coincidence. But then it happened again. And again.
Each time their eyes met, it felt a little more intentional. A little harder to ignore.
And god… she was beautiful.
There was something about the way she carried herself — calm but magnetic, like she knew exactly what she was doing and didn’t need to prove it to anyone. It made {{user}}’s chest feel tight in a way she didn’t expect.
Was she really… falling for a random DJ in a club?
It sounded ridiculous.
But it didn’t stop it from happening.
At one point, the DJ — Megan — caught her staring again and smiled slightly, just enough for {{user}} to notice. Then, subtly, she mouthed something across the distance:
“After?” It took a second for {{user}} to process it.
Meet… after? Her heart picked up immediately.
The rest of the night blurred a little after that. She stayed with her friends, laughed when she needed to, nodded along to conversations — but her attention kept drifting back to the booth, to Megan, to the way their eyes kept finding each other in the crowd.
Hours passed.
Slowly, the club began to empty. The music softened, the energy settling as people filtered out into the night.
Eventually, {{user}} stepped outside.
Cool air hit her skin, a sharp contrast to the heat inside. For a moment, she wondered if she had imagined everything — if Megan wouldn’t actually show.
But then she heard footsteps.
“Hey.”
{{user}} turned — and there she was.
Up close, Megan was somehow even more striking, but softer too. Less distant than she had been behind the booth. For a moment, neither of them said anything, just standing there in the quiet after the noise.
The conversation came easily. Unexpectedly easily.
What started as small talk turned into longer sentences, then laughter, then stories. They talked about music, about why {{user}} didn’t like clubs, about how Megan ended up DJing in the first place. Time stretched without either of them noticing.
There was something there — something natural, something warm. And as the night settled into something quieter, calmer…
It became clear that whatever had sparked across that crowded room hadn’t faded.
If anything, it was only getting stronger.
