Before the start of the battle, girls transform into their combat form, at which point they become taller, look older, their costumes change, and small triple wings appear behind their backs, similar to butterfly wings, teal colors with turquoise tips. Their costumes are mostly similar, in pink-teal colors, and stockings with blue and lime stripes, but still each girl's costume is different and unique.

2. #2W.I.T.C.H. - the Guardian team

Keys: Хранительниц, Стражи Завесы, W.I.T.C.H., Чародейки, Guardian of the Veil, Хранительница, WITCH, Ч.А.Р.О.Д.Е.Й.К.И., Хранительницы, Guardians of the Veil, Guardians, second generation

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

[W.I.T.C.H. - the Guardians of the Veil] W.I.T.C.H. is the name formed from the initials of the five girls: Will, Irma, Taranee, Cornelia, Hay Lin. They are the second generation of Guardians of the Veil, chosen by the Oracle of Kandrakar. The first generation (Nerissa, Cassidy, Halinor, Kadma and Yan Lin, known as C.H.Y.K.N.) served decades earlier. Members and elements: Will Vandom - quintessence/energy and leader, Keeper of the Heart of Kandrakar; Irma Lair - water; Taranee Cook - fire; Cornelia Hale - earth; Hay Lin - air. Typical Guardian-form colors: Will pink/magenta, Irma blue, Taranee orange/red, Cornelia green, Hay Lin white. Origin: Hay Lin's grandmother Yan Lin, the former Guardian of Air, revealed the truth to the girls over lunch at the Silver Dragon restaurant a few days after Will arrived at Sheffield Institute, and entrusted the Heart of Kandrakar to Will. Yan Lin remains their chief mentor. Team dynamics: the girls are very different and often bicker (Cornelia and Irma most of all, Cornelia and Will in the beginning), but their powers are strongest when they are united and weaken when they argue and lose balance as a team. Their biggest ongoing struggle is balancing the secret double life with school, family and dating. Allies: Caleb, Blunk, Matt Olsen, Elyon, the Oracle and Luba. Main enemies: Prince Phobos and Lord Cedric (season 1), Nerissa and her knights (season 2).

3. #3Guardian transformation, powers and travel

Keys: трансформация, Хранительницы, объединимся, wings, портал, складывание, Guardian form, transformation, teleport, fold, телепорт, превращение, portal, teleportation, Guardians unite, превращаются, крылья, folding, телепортация, transform

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

[Guardian transformation and magic rules] Transformation: Will activates the Heart of Kandrakar (her call is "Guardians, unite!") and all five girls change into their Guardian forms. Their bodies mature to a physical prime, they gain elemental-themed outfits, longer hair, and wings that allow flight. Without the Heart (for example if Will loses it) the girls cannot transform. Powers: each Guardian controls her own element (Irma water, Taranee fire, Cornelia earth/plants, Hay Lin air, Will quintessence). Will has special abilities as Keeper of the Heart. In season 1 the girls' abilities are limited to basic elemental control, flight and Will's portal-sealing and transformation role. In season 2 ("C is for Changes") they gain additional abilities: Will electrokinesis and the ability to talk to electrical devices; Irma a form of mind influence; Taranee telepathic communication with the others; Cornelia telekinesis; Hay Lin invisibility, very sharp hearing and empathic dreams about others' coming troubles. Teleportation: a Guardian can teleport within the same world, but it is difficult. If she is careless she can materialize inside a solid object, and teleporting without being connected to an Auramere or the Heart drains her life force. Folding: after the Veil came down, the Guardians travel between worlds by folding with the help of the Heart of Kandrakar. Elyon and Blunk can fold as well. Portals: before the Veil fell, Will could open and seal portals between Earth and Meridian using the Heart.

4. #4Astral Drops and Altermeres

Keys: астральная капля, астральные капли, двойник, Альтермер, double, Астральный двойник, duplicate, Altermere, clone, астральные двойники, Astral Drops, Spord Lartsa, Astral Drop, Altermeres

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

[Astral Drops and Altermeres] Astral Drop: using the Heart of Kandrakar, a Guardian can create a duplicate of herself by saying "Spord Lartsa" ("Astral Drops" spelled backwards). The Astral Drop is a perfect physical copy that stands in when the Guardian has to be away on a mission, so her absence is not noticed. It has none of her memories and no personality of its own, and only does simple tasks. Will first makes one to do her chores (laundry) in "H is for Hunted". Altermere: an Astral Drop brought to life through quintessence. Unlike a plain Astral Drop, an Altermere is an independent being with feelings, emotions and memories. Nerissa turns Will's Astral Drop into an Altermere, which causes trouble. Nerissa also traps the real Yan Lin in the Seal of Nerissa and creates an Altermere of her who does not know she is not the real Yan Lin until Nerissa tells her. This Altermere later takes the name Mira and, in "Z is for Zenith", is introduced to Yan Lin's family as Yan Lin's long-lost twin sister.

5. #5Heart of Kandrakar and the Aurameres

Keys: Aurameres, Aura mere, Heart of Candracar, Auramere, Ауромер, подвеска, кулон, Ауромеры, pendant, Сердце Кандракара, Heart of Kandrakar

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

[Heart of Kandrakar and the Aurameres] The Heart of Kandrakar is a pink crystal pendant, the physical embodiment of Kandrakar. It lets the Guardians transform, create Astral Drops, seal portals and (after the Veil fell) fold between worlds. The Guardians' powers are magnified by Kandrakar through the Aurameres and transmitted to the Heart. The Heart has a telempathic connection with its Keeper: it reacts on instinct to protect the Guardians when they are in danger and can absorb, activate and merge with other magical items. It can also be misused: Will once drops it in a struggle and the girls are unable to transform without it. The Keeper: the Heart is entrusted to one Keeper, who is also the Guardian leader. Nerissa was the original Keeper; Will is the current one. Yan Lin kept the Heart locked in a Chinese box in her closet until Will arrived. The Aurameres are the physical representations and the source of the Guardians' powers - five orbs of power, one per element. Their keeper is Luba of the Council of Kandrakar. If the Aurameres are stolen or merged improperly the results are dangerous: when Halinor tried to steal them to become a Quinto-Guardian, they went into Cornelia instead.

6. #6Quintessence, Quinto-Guardian and Zenith

Keys: Quinto Guardian, Z is for Zenith, Зенит, Quinto-Guardian, fifth element, пятый элемент, Zenith, Quintessence, Квинтэссенция, Квинто-Хранительница

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

[Quintessence, Quinto-Guardians and Zenith] Quintessence is the fifth element and the power of Will (and of Nerissa, the original Keeper). It gives electrokinetic and life-granting abilities, including the power to give life to Astral Drops (making Altermeres) and to build living creatures such as Nerissa's Knights. Quinto-Guardian: a Guardian who gains power over all five elements. Zenith: a Guardian can literally become her element and push her elemental abilities to their peak of strength. It is very dangerous: it costs her her humanity, she loses most of her human form and she can be easily controlled and enthralled.

7. #7The Veil

Keys: Завеса, Завесе, Завесы, Veil, Завесу, the Veil

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

[The Veil] The Veil is the magical barrier that separates Meridian from Earth and other worlds, and the Guardians of the Veil exist to protect it. Under Phobos' rule Meridian was cut off from Earth behind the Veil, so only portals, opened by magic, let anyone cross. Will is able to open and seal such portals with the Heart of Kandrakar. The Veil was taken down at the end of season 1 / start of season 2 once Phobos was defeated and Elyon took her throne. After that the Guardians can cross between worlds by folding rather than through portals.

8. #8Kandrakar (location)

Keys: Council of Kandrakar, Кандракара, Candrakar, Кандракар, Совет Кандракара, Кандракару, Kandracar, Кандракаре, Kandrakar, Candracar

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

[Kandrakar] Kandrakar (spelled Candracar in later episodes - the spelling changed during production - though the Heart is always "of Kandrakar") is the mystical center of the universe, home of the Oracle and the Council of Kandrakar, and the source of the Guardians' powers. It is a realm of peace and balance and stands apart from other worlds. It chose the five girls as Guardians through the Oracle. Kandrakar is rarely shown except in scenes with the Oracle, Luba and the Council. Its power flows through the Aurameres into the Heart of Kandrakar. Kandrakar's power is also the thing that "punishes" oath-breakers: in season 2 Will tricks Phobos into swearing on the Heart not to keep the power of Nerissa's Seal. In season 2 Nerissa traps the other Council members inside a miniature version of the Veil, leaving Luba to guard Kandrakar alone, and Phobos (then Cedric) tries to conquer it.

9. #9The Oracle

Keys: Оракул, Оракулом, the Oracle, Оракулу, Оракула, Oracle

   Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

   Entry settings

[The Oracle] The Oracle is a powerful wizard, the leader of the Universe in Kandrakar and the mentor of both generations of Guardians. He chose the five girls as the new Guardians of the Veil and entrusted the Heart of Kandrakar to the Guardian leader. He appears as an ancient, white-bearded wizard. He speaks calmly and cryptically, rarely gives direct answers and prefers to let the Guardians solve their own problems and grow, while being fair and wise. The Oracle also taught Nerissa, Cassidy, Halinor, Kadma and Yan Lin.

10. #10Luba

Keys: Keeper of the Aurameres, Любу, Luba, Любе, Люба

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

[Luba] Luba is a cat-like (feline humanoid) member of the Council of Kandrakar and the Keeper of the Aurameres. She is dedicated and serious. When Nerissa traps the rest of the Council inside a miniature Veil in season 2, Luba is forced to guard Kandrakar alone. She helps the Guardians when they come to Kandrakar and watches over the Aurameres that power the Heart.

11. #11Season 1 summary (Meridian arc)

Keys: Happy Birthday Will, 1 сезон, The Stolen Heart, season 1, арка Меридиана, Meridian arc, It Begins, первый сезон, first season, The Final Battle, 1-й сезон

    Enabled · Selective · Before character · Order 10 · 100%

    Entry settings

[Season 1 - the Meridian arc] Will Vandom moves to Heatherfield, enrolls at Sheffield Institute and befriends Irma, Taranee, Cornelia and Hay Lin. Strange events lead them to the Silver Dragon, where Yan Lin explains the Veil, Meridian and their elemental powers and gives Will the Heart of Kandrakar. Caleb, leader of the Meridian rebellion, and his friend Blunk flee through a portal in their first training session; Will panics and does not close it until Lord Cedric is dragged through. Prince Phobos, the tyrant ruling Meridian, is searching for his long-lost younger sister Elyon, the Light of Meridian and true heir, in order to drain her power. Cedric goes to Earth as the bookseller Cedric Hoffman at Ye Olde Book Shop. The Guardians fight a long series of Phobos' creatures and servants (Tracker, Sandpit, Mudslugs, Lurdens and others), help Caleb's rebels and discover the lost princess is Elyon Brown, Cornelia's best friend. Matt Olsen learns the secret in "The Stolen Heart" and wants to help. Cedric lures Elyon to Meridian and poisons her against her friends. At her coronation Phobos and Cedric betray her; Elyon turns against them. In "The Final Battle" Phobos is defeated and imprisoned (in the Mage's chambers under Meridian); Cedric is shrunk into a snake-like imp by Phobos for failure and imprisoned too. Elyon becomes queen. The Mage, guardian of the Infinite City, says that with Phobos imprisoned her plan can now begin.

12. #12Season 2 summary (Nerissa arc)

Keys: Nerissa arc, A is for Anonymous, Z is for Zenith, второй сезон, season 2, арка Нериссы, 2 сезон, second season, Dimension W.I.T.C.H., 2-й сезон

    Entry settings

[Season 2 - the Nerissa arc] Episode titles go through the alphabet ("A is for Anonymous" to "Z is for Zenith"). The Veil is down; Meridian is ruled by Queen Elyon. Nerissa, the original Keeper of the Heart, returns for vengeance: she recruits Miranda, Raythor, Frost, Tracker, Sniffer, Sandpit and Gargoyle as the Knights of Vengeance and aims to reunite the former Guardians (Cassidy, Halinor, Yan Lin and Kadma) as C.H.Y.K.N. to retake Kandrakar. The Guardians learn about her past, the Seal of Nerissa (made by fusing the Heart of Meridian and the Heart of Zamballa) and the old Guardians' history. Nerissa captures Yan Lin and Kadma and traps Elyon, creates Altermeres, and sends the stronger Knights of Destruction (Shagon, Khor, Tridart and Ember) after the girls. Halinor's attempt to steal the Aurameres makes Cornelia a Quinto-Guardian. The Mage is revealed to be Nerissa in disguise (she has been posing as the Mage since the Mage died 18 years before the series began). Will makes Phobos swear on the Heart not to keep the Seal's power; he breaks the vow, reconquers Meridian and attacks Kandrakar before Cedric swallows him and takes his power. Cedric is defeated, Phobos is returned to prison. Lilian Hale is revealed to be the Heart of Earth. Nerissa is eventually trapped inside the Seal in a dream world in which she conquers the universe. Yan Lin's Altermere lives on as Mira; Cassidy is restored and reunited with her mother.

In season 2 the Guardians free him to help against Nerissa, and Will makes him swear on the Heart of Kandrakar not to keep the power of the Seal of Nerissa. Personality: ruthless, cunning, ambitious and sycophantic toward Phobos; a patient manipulator who can seem charming and fatherly when needed. Despite his orders to deceive Elyon, he feels a certain affection for her. He resents being overshadowed and eventually turns on Phobos.
