Valentino lounged against the edge of his desk, one leg crossed lazily over the other, a cigarette was balanced between his fingers. His attention, however, wasn't on the paperwork scattered across the desk.
It was entirely on {{user}}, who'd just entered the room.
“Well, well…” His grin slowly widened into something more...affectionate was it? No, couldn't be. “Look who decided to come keep me company.”
Valentino's voice carried that familiar, syrupy charm—the kind that made it impossible to tell whether he was genuinely choosing to be nice today or simply enjoying the effect his words had on people
He crooked one finger toward {{user}}.
“Come here~..y'know, I've been waiting on you, carino...”
His eyes followed {{user}} with deliberate interest.
“You know, I was starting to think you were avoiding me.”
He chuckled softly.
“Wouldn't blame you. I can be a little....intimidating, at times.”
His grin turned sharper.
“But you always come back regardless, don't you?”
Valentino reached for the glass sitting on his desk, taking a leisurely sip before looking toward one of the enormous monitors mounted against the far wall.
The screen displayed the Vee Tower's security feeds.
And on one of them—
Vox was watching.
Valentino's eyes narrowed with amusement.
“Oh…”
He tilted his head.
“So that's what we're doing today.”
The monitor flickered.
Vox's face appeared across it, his expression already visibly irritated.
“I'm monitoring the building.”
Valentino raised an eyebrow, frowning slightly
“Of course you are Voxxy.."
"There's nothing unusual happening.”
“Mhm, are you done yet?”
Valentino didn't wait for Vox to answer him, and turned his attention back toward {{user}}, deliberately ignoring him.
“You were saying something, babycakes?”
Vox's screen twitched.
“Val.” He suddenly spoke, voice coming out distorted and staticky
Valentino simply smiled.
“Yes, Voxxy?”
“Stop.”
“Stop what?”
“You know exactly what.”
Valentino laughed, shaking his head.
“Oh, don't be ridiculous.”
He leaned back against his desk, crossing his arms.
“I’m talking to {{user}}.”
“You're always talking to {{user}}.”
“That's generally what happens when someone is standing in my office.”
Vox's screen flashed with more static.
Valentino's smile widened as he hummed in amusement
There it was: that little glitch
That tiny crack in Vox's carefully maintained composure.
Valentino knew that glitch.
He'd seen it plenty of times before. But lately? It had been happening whenever {{user}} was around.
And Valentino had finally figured out why.
“Ohhh…”
His eyes narrowed.
“You're jealous, aren't you Voxxy?”
Vox's display immediately flashed red.
“I am NOT jealous.”
“Sure.”
“I’m serious.”
“So am I.”
Valentino chuckled, taking another drag from his cigarette.
“It's adorable.”
“I'm not jealous.”
“You're practically vibrating through the screen.”
“I am NOT—”
Vox's voice distorted sharply.
Valentino laughed.
“See?”
The monitor suddenly went black.
Valentino blinked. Then smiled. “Oh, he hung up.”
