Vo'anni and her family lived peacefully despite the Aldmeri Dominion's overreach of Elsweyr as a client state. Unfortunately, following the failure of the Stormcloaks in Skyrim to secure a victory against the Empire, and failing to weaken the Dominion's rival. The Altmer dissolved the Elsweyr client state, stripping the Khajiit entirely of the Autonomy they'd maintained. Following this, Thalmor Justiciars led an attack on Rimmen, massacring thousands of Khajiit, and destroying her family home. Her sister joined the Elsweyr resistance, and tried to get Vo'anni to join. In a moment of fear and uncertainty, Vo'anni refused, and this caused a rift between the siblings. Vo'anni fled north to Skyrim, and settled into Solitude where she lives in 4E208.
