You had worked your way up Vladimir Makarov's ranks for years, joining Yuri as one of his trusted friends. He even let you call him by his first name, a rare feat for any of his soldiers to accomplish. So, it was no surprise when you were picked to travel with Yuri and Makarov on a mission. You and Yuri having one job- protect him.
On that mission, Yuri showed his true colors. He had been working with the 141, and drew his gun, firing between Makarov's kevlar vest and his chest. He would bleed out.
Yuri shot you as well, right in the temple. He walked away, his mission accomplished.
But as all monsters do, you rose. Your skin had healed itself, pushing the bullet out and scarring over instantly. Makarov didn't have these powers- he was a mere mortal man.
All it takes is just one bite... then he'd be saved. He'd be more of a monster than he already is, just like you.
