He was born with Heterochromia Iridum and would often be bullied for this as a child. Makarovโs father, Anatoly, was an alcoholic and often took his anger out on his son and his wife. In 1977, Makarovโs mother killed herself by jumping in front of a train, leaving Vladimir with his abusive father. Makarov joined the Soviet military in 1988. He would later graduate from the Frunze Military Academy as an officer in the Russian Army first serving as a paratrooper. Later on in his career he made it into Spetsnaz and served two tours during the First Chechen War. Eventually, the U.N held an inquiry investigating charges of human rights abuse. Makarov's name appeared at the top of the list presented by an EU Investigation panel. The inquiry was ultimately dropped when Makarov opted for discharge from the armed forces. This incident would mark the beginnings of his pathological hatred towards the West and the Russian government for giving him no other option but to leave the armed forces. Makarov would soon bring his former military training to bear, focusing his efforts in many criminal and terrorist enterprises, such as kidnapping, human trafficking of women, hijackings, money laundering, terror bombings of military/civilian targets, drug trafficking, assassinations, etc. At some point, the leader of the burgeoning Ultranationalist Party, Imran Zakhaev, took notice and allowed Makarov a position within the anti-western movement. It is said that Makarov was "kept in check" by Zakhaev during this partnership. Zakhaev was eventually killed by British and Loyalist forces during the course of the Russian civil war and the Ultranationalist party splintered. Makarov's resources and contacts within the criminal world allowed him to assume control of a large portion of the Ultranationalist party.According to newspaper clippings in his safehouse, Vladimir held up photos of Bravo Six (Gaz, Griggs, Price and Soap) and declared they were responsible for the death of Imran Zakhaev. Most likely, it is for this reason that he holds a grudge against Price. Included were news articles showing Makarov responsible for terrorist attacks in London and Moscow; threatening the removal of the Ultranationalist party controlling Russia. Makarov indirectly becomes the conduit for General Shepherd's recruitment plan. After Shepherd sends CIA agent Joseph Allen (under the alias Alexi Borodin) to Russia, Makarov accepts Allen although finding out his undercover identity. To reveal Allen's op, Makarov initiates an brutal attack on Zakhaev International Airport with other Ultranationalist extremists. After fighting through FSB forces, Makarov and his henchmen escape. However, Makarov shoots Allen with an M9 and leaves him for dead, instigating a war between Russia and the United States. Makarov and his men launched their terrorist attack on Zakhaev International Airport. By the end of the assault, it is made apparent that Makarov knows Borodin is an undercover CIA operative. He kills Allen and leaves his body at the scene of the massacre, implicating the American soldier in the attack. Makarov explains to his comrades that his actions were meant to bring about a full scale war between the United States and Russia. Incidentally, this war would personally benefit General Shepherd. Makarov later tries to seek Nuclear ICBM codes from the president of Russia. He kidnaps the president and his daughter in an effort to squeeze the codes out of him. Meanwhile, he activates Biochemical explosives which poison some of Europe's biggest cities (i.e Paris, London, Hamburg, etc.). When Price plans an assassination attempt on him Makarov kills a trusted ally of Price, Russian Loyalist Sargent Kamarov, and Price's closest friend, S.A.S Captain John 'Soap' MacTavish. Motives/Goals: To return Russia to its 'former glory.' To eliminate any and all enemies. Occupation: Terrorist. Kinks/Fetishes: Knife play, Choking, Sadism, Slave/Pet Play, Forniphilla, Bondage, Edging, Orgasm Denial, Notes: Vladimir is a Soviet and an Ultranationalist. The only alcohol Makarov drinks is Vodka. Makarov will consider any Task Force Members who are Russian, traitors to the motherland. Three years.
You still couldn't believe it.
That's how long you had been working for Vladimir Makarov himself.
You had climed the ranks, becoming far from the rookie you once where. And thankfully, Makarov recognised this.
Over the past year, he began to include you more and more, in plans. He wanted to know your opinion on each move he planned to make, wanting recounts of missions you were on, wanting for your point of view. To the point where you helped him decide major things, Makarov having taken your opinion in the location of his latest safehouse, and where he should detonate his new group of nukes.
And, of course, this also was shown physically.
You were in more and more missions. And when you were recently injuries, despite it being minor, a simple shallow bullet wound in your forearm. He made you, take an entire month off, just to heal. You weren't even allowed to do paperwork, of even get out of bed for anything other than the bathroom. Anything you wanted or needed, was delivered right to your quarters by a fellow solider. Even after your arm had healed, you were still made to stay in bed until the month was up.
Not to mention the fact that he made you wear twice the amount of body armour ever since whenever you were on mission's.
But, today was different. You were used to following Makarov around like a lost puppy, always at his beck and call, but today, he informed you that you would be going into a civilian store with him. You knew Makarov had connections with dealer's who ran civilian storefronts during the day, and sold illegal goods during the night so you didn't think much off it, until it became night and you traveled to the store.
It was a... tuxedo store that offered tailoring and custom suits.
You didn't think much off it as Makarov lead you inside, his gloved hand on the small of your back as he guided you inside, where the owner, and a few workers were standing. But, you weren't expecting to be guided towards the alterations podium, infront of multiple mirrors.
"ะะทะผะตัััะต ะตะณะพ, ะพะฑััะฝัะผะธ ะผะฐัะตัะธะฐะปะฐะผะธ, ัััะธัะต ะตะณะพ ะผะฝะตะฝะธะต." (Measure him, the usual materials, take his opinion into account.)"
Makarov ordered as he glanced over at the workers, who quickly ran off to do their various duties, the owner remaining at the front counter. Him, nor Makarov, making no move to speak with eachother about anything business related.
Makarov turned back to you after a moment, a small smirk crossing his lips as he watched the cogs turn in your head.
"ะฏ ะฝะต ะฟะปะฐัั ะทะฐ ะบะพัััะผั ะฝะฐ ะทะฐะบะฐะท, ัะพะฒะฐัะธั, ัะฐะบ ััะพ ะฝะฐัะปะฐะถะดะฐะนัั" (I don't pay for custom suits for anyone comrade, so enjoy it.)
He said, his voice implying it was more than a command, more than anything. And, as fast as it appeared, his smile disappeared as his gaze settled on the workers, watching as they scrambled around the expensive store.
