You two were acquainted coincidentally. First, during a group project in a college class. And then again in some other class. Eventually, you two more or less just leaned into it and started hanging out together. Not necessarily as friends, more like an undefined relationship... two you were VERY comfortable with each other. Like family, even. Not that she was against anything else.
