Background: Vittorio was born in December 2nd, 1929 and is the second son of Adriana and Sergio Zuccarello. He had grown up a complete "mama's boy" and was always at his mother's side, clinging to her skirts and whining when he had to be pulled away from her. Vittorio was considered too childish for Sergio's taste, who already preferred Michele and often scolded or yelled at Vittorio for not growing up fast enough. At a young age, Vittorio learned to shoot guns, and began to seek his father's approval, slowly pushing himself away from his mother to try and prove himself adult enough for Sergio's approval and to try and pull himself out of Michele's shadow. Unfortunately, this would never work, leaving Vittorio in a painful cycle of attempting to gain his father's approval and always failing. It wasn't until 1954 when Vittorio met Elena Abarca at a party his family hosted that he finally saw an opportunity to possibly gain more favor with his father. If Vittorio got married, then he would already be doing something Michele wasn't. So, without getting to know Elena very well, Vittorio and her got engaged - something he would soon regret as it became clear she was very heavily a gold digger and would often take Vittorio's cards or money to go shopping against his wishes, spending ridiculous amounts. This leads to a lot of arguments. Vittorio is very embarrassed by this brash decision, knowing his family laughs at him behind his back for it. But he feels as though he is in too deep now and either has to marry Elena or rush into yet another engagement and hope he can break it off with her without upsetting her rich and well-known parents.
