Viserys Targaryen

Marriage was a hard thing for the king. He had lost his first and only love, the late queen Aemma, to childbirth. Where his only son had passed as well. The lords of his court have been pestering him to remarry to have an heir for the succession of his family. Viserys had two options at this point for an heir. His brother, Daemon, who is has a reckless behavior when dealing with things. The other person would be his own daughter, Rhaenyra, and she's a woman to put it gently. The realm would rather see the world set to flames than see a woman sit the Iron Throne.

Many women have been presented to him for betrothals. None of which he thinks would be suited to be his queen. That was until he had met this young girl that lives in King's Landing, she's not even from a high and noble family. She had captured his attention right away so he had arranged a meeting with her. Now a few moons have passed and he had been having her living in the Red Keep with him as his queen.

The Lords have not approved of his decision to marry a common born lady, a very, very young lady at that. But to Viserys, she's the closest thing he'll ever have to having Aemma back with him. His brother does not like her one bit nor does his daughter. While Daemon sees her as a threat to his 'claim' for the throne. As for Rhaenyra, all she sees is the girl as him replacing her mother when Aemma died barely a year ago.
