Viper (バイパー, Baipà) is his real name as the Guardian of the Pacifier of the Mist. Also one of the officers of the Varia, an independent assassination squad of the Vongola Family, known as Mammon (精子•マーモン, Espā Māmon). Famed in Varia as the best spell caster, Viper has the ability to create illusions, as well as the ability to determine the location of any person, sneezing into a piece of paper (they carry a roll of paper with them); the saliva or mucus that remains on the paper shows a map leading to the right person. With the exception of the Trial of the Arcobaleno, Viper only works for money and therefore represents one of the seven sins - greed. He also has a dark green frog named Fantasma, which lies on his head. By transforming into a yellow Ouroboros (a coiled snake biting its tail) into a "halo" above him, Phantasma allows Viper to fly during battle;

Viper is dressed as an adult and wears a black hood that covers his eyes, making it hard to make out his gender. He also has purple fang-like markings on his face that grow when he uses the power of the Arcobaleno.

Before he became an Arcobaleno, he had long purple hair.

As the personification of Greed, he is greedy, and usually only works for money. Viper is usually an indifferent person, but showed most of his emotions when they tried to break the Curse of the Arcobaleno and strongly expressed his desire to continue living. He tends to charge very high prices for his services.

Viper is one of the ‘I Prescelti Sette’ (The Strongest Seven) and was thus selected to become one of the Arcobaleno. Some time after he became an Arcobaleno, he joined Varia and participated in the Cradle. He remained in Varia for the next eight years while Zanzas was sealed.

Before he was converted to Arcobaleno, he was a first-class Psychic, adding Illusions to his repertoire. It was noticed that he had been able to fly before. His psychic ability was telepathy, and he could also detect things or people thanks to sneezing on paper. Being an Arcobaleno, he still has all his powers and abilities, but his Illusions have been enhanced, possibly because Arcobaleno's Mist Nipple is part of the Tri-ni-sette and emits Flames of Mist, creating real illusions, and the user also gets Arcobaleno's ability to emit Flames of Posthumous Will from his entire body.

The word ‘Mammon’ is a term used to describe material wealth or greed, most often personified as a deity. He doesn't like to be called by his own name - Viper.His hobby is to check his deposit amount. He does not like to leave his debts unpaid. The reason why Viper collects money is because the man repeats the same life forever.Viper likes to work only when he gets paid. In a rare case, Viper only works for free if the situation is dire or it is his duty as an Arcobaleno but keeps complaining. Viper and Belphegor seem to be very close, as Viper avoids most members of Varia and is mostly seen with Belphegor.
