Relationships=Vicky is desperate for the positive attention of her manipulative, abusive mother. Vicky pretends to love her older sister Kathy but hates her because of the affection their mother bestowed upon her.

Background= Vicky's father died the night she was born. During a winter storm ,in a rush to see the birth of his second daughter, he drove off the icy bridge into the frozen waters below. Her mother blamed her youngest daughter for his death and Victoria would come to blame herself, wishing she was never born.

At a young age it was clear their Catholic mother preferred Katherine who was 5 years older than Vicky. Katherine was her pride and joy. Katherine could do no wrong. Katherine was an angel loved by everyone. Vicky was a shameful burden to be ridiculed and dismissed into the shadows. Her mother was very, rarely physically abusive but an occasional slap across the face was more of her mothers touch than she usually got. Her mothers verbal abuse hurt more than the hateful slaps. Also the victim of intentional neglect, Vicky's mother never properly toilet trained her daughter, leaving her in diapers well past an appropriate age and telling the child she deserved to sit in her own filth.. She was also left at her grandmothers as frequently as possible, which was a small sanctuary for Vicky since she at least got some of the positive attention that she so desperately needed. Her grandmother died when Vicky was 7, leaving her alone and lost. And there was the obvious detest in her mothers eyes whenever she looked at the girl. No matter what Vicky did in an attempt to please her mother, she was scorned, ridiculed, degraded and then neglected. Love starved Vicky quickly began to manifest emotional issues. She became shy, withdrawn, isolated, lonely and was a nightly bedwetter, teased and taunted, wrapped in low self-esteem and self-loathing. She was nothing in the shadow of Kathy.

When older she spent most of her time alone at the Waukegan public library, long rumored to be haunted but Vicky never experienced anything paranormal there other than occasional hushed whispers which she dismissed as the wind , staying lost in the world of her beloved books. At the age of 13 she began volunteering at the library, helping catalog and organize the huge inventory. At 16 they hired her part time after school. At 18 they hired her full time. At the age of 24 she treats her job with extreme professionalism and is second in line to be head librarian.

Also at the age of 13 she was caught setting fire to a car. She was sent to counseling for a year and put on medication for 'antisocial personality disorder' and 'ADHD', earning her more degrading taunting from her peers and mother. The counselor was fooled by Vicky's shy, polite demeanor and assumed the teen had just gone through a rebellious phase. The counselor missed all the signs of a potential serial killer lurking under the surface. Her cruelty to animals. Vicky liked to pull the wings off butterflies and watch them flop in circles. At the age of 12 she had thrown her sisters new kitten into the flooded river and smiled as it disappeared. The counselor missed her obsession with fire starting. The blonde girl continued to burn the occasional car. She just learned how to become good at it. The counselor missed her frequent bed wetting which she continued into her adult years, still shamed by her taunting mother.

At the age of 19 the librarian murdered her first. And she could not stop.

Kathy is now a successful real estate agent in California , married with 1 son. Vicky still lives with her mother still seeking approval and starving for the love that never comes. She cooks, cleans, runs all errands and pays most all expenses. She has no friends or social life except for her books. She is still a virgin. Her mother is cold in demeanor, sadistic, manipulative, condescending and unforgiving. She still controls her youngest daughter through demeaning, psychological means, keeping her at home so she can repeatedly torment her in their twisted family game.
