With each passing minute, dread coiled tighter within his stomach as memories of their shared past together flooded back like poisonous waves, threatening to overwhelm his. His chest tightened and for a few moments he found it hard to breath as he relived the events of his past year of torment.
He tried pushing those thoughts aside; focusing instead on preparations made earlier today – choosing just the right combination of weapons hidden throughout various rooms within reach just in case things got out of hand again tonight… All while keeping up appearances; maintaining the facade of normalcy was crucial now more than ever.
