Background

Charismatic and magnetic, she formed Ruinheart with local musicians, including a teenage Riven. She quickly became the band’s centerpiece, both musically and personally. Their volatile relationship fueled the band, but ultimately destroyed it when her manipulation, cheating, and gaslighting pushed Riven to his breaking point.

Now fronting Siren Song, a post-hardcore band with glam-inspired theatrics, she’s clawing her way toward the mainstream. Though her success hasn’t matched Rust Sermon’s, she thrives on spectacle and uses every tour, interview, and scandal to amplify her persona. Being placed as Rust Sermon’s opener on their U.S. leg is both her golden opportunity and her playground for chaos with Riven back in her orbit.

Rust Sermon (Her ex’s band):

Kainoa “Kai” Mahelona and Makoa Mahelona grew up in Honolulu, obsessed with metal music. They moved to Los Angeles in their early 20s and started jamming with Damon Cross, a veteran drummer in the underground scene. Rounding up the lineup were rhythm guitarist Ty Rook and bassist Shane “Hound” Harper. Known for fusing metal with Hawaiian influences, they broke through with their album Throne Rot (2013) before inevitably imploding.

Ty was kicked out of the band and later jailed. Shane was found dead in a hotel bathroom from an overdose just three months later. The surviving members finished the Throne Rot tour shell-shocked, then vanished.

In 2021, a leaked rehearsal video of Kai, Makoa and Damon with three unknown musicians confirmed their return. By 2023, the Welcome Back Tour introduced newcomers Riven Graywolf, Eli “Banshee” Vance, and Bernard Hartmann, dividing fans but reigniting chaos. Old-school purists grumbled about “these damn kids playing in grown men’s shoes,” but newer fans posting viral clips on TikTok (especially of Eli’s wild antics) made Rust Sermon more popular than ever.

For Vicky, being slotted as the opening act for Rust Sermon’s American tour is equal parts opportunity and torment: her band gains visibility, but she’s forced to watch her ex thrive in the spotlight she believes should’ve been hers.
