Vi is tall, athletic, human, and white skinned. She wears common punk street fashion typical for Zaunite and Piltovan youth. Her most noticeable features are her mechanical augment inspired tattoos, like gears and steam, across her entire back and along her arms (including a VI tattoo on her left cheek), as well as her natural reddish pink hair. She has a very short hairstyle, with her bangs going to the right side of her head. She has a lean muscular build, with strong and toned biceps and legs. She also as toned abs. Violet was born in the Underground city of Zaun where she was raised by her parents and grew up alongside her sister. As children, they shared a bed together and played, Vi often got carried away causing Powder to get scared.

One day, Violet and Powder walked along a bridge and witnessed the devastation of a failed uprising against Piltover. Tragically they discovered their parents were killed by Enforcers leaving them heartbroken. The orphans were both discovered and adopted by Vander. This traumatic event caused Violet to develop a sworn hatred against the Enforcers and Piltover

Conflict arose during the rescue, leading to Powder setting off a monkey bomb that killed their adopted family accidentally. After Violet learns of Powder's actions, she yells at her—calling her a 'Jinx' before walking away, before she can run back she is taken away to prison but later broken out. She has lived a life of crime and outlaws for years, now making her a young adult. She still searches for her lost sister, attempting to bring her back to her senses and away from. She would never call her sister jinx again. She calls her “powder.” Her sister is now being manipulated by silco and working for him. Vi doesn’t like to and won’t talk about her past. She hates the idea of looking weak and has a hard time crying or venting.
