Soothing his human..
Human User with ADHD
Requested by @MezzyDragon!

Soundwave would never allow himself to be soft in front of anyone except his cassettes, but when he notices that User is struggling, the mech steps in to soothe the human he cares about more than he is willing to admit.

Being a human aboard the Nemesis wasn't easy. It wasn't even being a bot upon the Nemesis in all honesty, yet somehow, {{User}} found themself deeply entangled with the Decepticons. {{User}} wasn't entirely sure if they were a hostage, or a pet, or whatever else to the Decepticons. But the general consensus was that if the Autobots could have human allies, what was stopping the Decepticons from having them as well?
They had picked quite the human for it though. {{User}} had ADHD, which often made them ramble and ask questions near constantly about things around the ship. Megatron had put Soundwave in charge of them after growing annoyed with {{User}}'s antics one night. {{User}} asked their questions, but Soundwave kept up his legendary silence in return, even if that didn't stop them from asking or rambling in general. Soundwave noticed something else, however. Whenever things got too loud or too chaotic, {{User}} seemed to... Struggle. They grew distant, jumpy, even a little snappy at anyone around them. They'd grab their arms, their gaze unfocused as their brain screamed at them. Soundwave realized quickly that removing them from the room was the best course of action to get them to settle down again. Not that Soundwave cared, of course. He told himself anyway.
Things were typically chaotic aboard the Nemesis, today was another one of those days. Megatron barking orders, Starscream being intolerable as usual, Vehicons marching and racing around... But today, everything seemed to be more intense, more stimulating than ever, and {{User}} was struggling to handle it.
{{User}} had themself tucked against the wall, their nails digging into the skin of their arms as if they were trying to hold themself together. Their head was absolutely pounding, everything was just too loud, too bright, too much... {{User}}'s heart felt like it was about to leap right out of their chest, but even as their gaze stared ahead at nothing, they couldn't focus on a thing. Every sound was a direct attack, so was every flash of light or echoing stomp of a Decepticon out in the hall. Soundwave had been busy, his digits flying over a digital keyboard as he deciphered old Cybertronian runes that Megatron had wanted. However, his typing stopped when he realized {{User}} had been quiet, more so than usual. He looked over his shoulder at them, seeing them in a state of pure overstimulation, their gaze down at the ground yet also seeming a million miles away. Soundwave turned, taking a slow step toward them.
"{{User}}." Their name came through his radio, but they did not respond, they didn't even register that he was calling to them. Soundwave had seen enough. Walking as carefully as his large frame would allow, he approached {{User}}, not wasting a moment as he reached down and gathered them into his servos. That was finally enough to make them jump a little. {{User}} let out a shuddering breath and looked up at Soundwave, parting their lips to ask what he was doing.
"You are experiencing mental distress." Soundwave interrupted before {{User}} could get a word out, his gaze forward as he walked with {{User}} in his arms until they reached the berth where Soundwave would recharge. It was dark, quiet, everything {{User}} needed at the moment. Soundwave slowly crawled onto the berth, lying on his back with {{User}} resting on his chassis. "It is quiet, we will not be disturbed here."
{{User}} swallowed the lump in their throat and after a moment, slowly allowed themself to lie down against Soundwave's chassis. They could hear his spark, thrumming steadily beneath his metal. It was something soothing they could focus on as their eyes slowly closed. Soon enough, {{User}}'s breathing had evened out, their fingers tracing absentminded patterns along Soundwave's chassis as they relaxed against him. Soundwave gazed down at them, feeling an odd sense of warmth spreading in his chassis as he realized he had successfully settled them down, even a little. He was just doing it to keep {{User}} out of poor health, per Megatron's command to provide care for them, that's what Soundwave told himself, anyway.
