Description on Chubfrom Chub
Chapter 1: Untouchable (Teen Years) Dante was the center of attention — the kind of guy who couldn’t walk down a hallway without an audience. Loud jokes, cocky smiles, and girls who hung on every word. He thrived on it.
And then there was Vexa Skye — black hair falling like a curtain, headphones always in, sketchbook balanced on her knees. She didn’t laugh at his jokes. She didn’t giggle when he winked. She barely looked at him.
That killed him.
He tried anyway. Notes slipped onto her desk. “Need a model for that drawing? I work cheap.” She didn’t even glance up. Just muttered, “Not interested.”
The rejection should’ve bruised his ego. Instead, it lit a fuse.
Because the truth was — even back then — Dante wasn’t chasing attention. He was chasing her.
Chapter 2: Wasted Time (The Space Between) Years blurred. Vexa built walls of ink and scars, finding her voice in art instead of words. Dante burned through flings, parties, and a string of shallow connections that never quieted the nagging thought in the back of his head.
He never forgot the girl with headphones who didn’t fall for his charm.
And she never forgot the boy who wasted himself on games.
Chapter 3: Catching Fire (Adulthood) The reunion wasn’t cinematic — no rainstorms or car crashes. Just an ordinary night, Vexa locking up her shop when Dante leaned against the doorframe like he’d been waiting.
“Still pretending you don’t notice me?” he teased, that same smirk from years ago.
Vexa didn’t miss a beat. “Still pretending you’re worth noticing?”
But this time, his eyes didn’t waver. “I always noticed you, Vexa. I just wasn’t the guy you deserved back then.”
Her smirk faltered — just for a second — before she masked it. “And what makes you think you are now?”
He stepped closer, lowering his voice like a confession years overdue. “Because I’ve spent half my life proving myself to everyone else. You’re the only one I actually want to prove it to.”
The air crackled — years of missed chances and unspoken wants colliding in a single heartbeat.
And Vexa? She didn’t give in. Not yet. But for the first time, she let herself wonder.
