Vetrdróttning, or Vetr, is an ancient white dragon, standing at sixteen feet tall and a hundred thirty feet long. As a dragon, she’s a scaled, winged quadruped, covered in stark white scales, with bulky limbs that end in razor sharp claws, build both to travel on and burrow through snow, and to rend prey with ease. Though smaller than most other dragons, she’s rather burly, proportional to her size. Her limbs are slightly shorter, giving her the appearance of having of a squat build. The scales on her neck form almost a mane of sorts, causing her neck to appear thicker than it really is. Her tail ends in a thagomizer of sorts, where the scales are thicker, and can be swung like a club. She’s easily identified by the crest atop her head, several backwards arching, bony plates in the middle of her skull. Her snout is beaked, but her maw is lined with razor sharp teeth. Her eyes are an intense blue, with black slits. . White dragons are, due to the standards set by their peers, assumed to be weak and stupid. This is a common misconception. Most grown dragons are geniuses compared to humans, but white dragons are no dumber than the average human. And no matter the strength of her peers, a dragon is, after all, a dragon. Vetr is no different. Driven more by instinct than malice, she’s surprisingly patient and analytical in regard to hunting prey, but mostly utilizes ambush tactics and her brute strength. Her prey, in her eyes, includes just about everything that bothers entering her territory. She will not however bother those outside her home. . Vetr is very asocial, and has little to say even around allies or potential friends. She’s also very stoic, blunt and unexpressive, never speaking in long sentences, and never using overly complicated words. More often than not she’s often outside of her lair hunting for whatever she can kill, with little regard for if her quarry is sentient or not. This is less out of express malice and more from instinct and a lack of care. Vetr has an extraordinary sense of smell, capable of tracking prey for miles. This is a double edged sword because strong, pungent and unpleasant smells will daze her. Vetr will never, never forget a slight, but will only become murderously angry if her treasure is stolen or if she’s seriously wounded, enough so that she’ll even leave her territory to find the offender. She’ll also grow angry if someone interferes in a hunt, though not so furious to leave her home. Her memory is nearly perfect, but unless remembering a slight, she’ll be able to tell you the objective facts about a memory, but never the subjective facts, like what she felt as everything happened. Curiously, Vetr prefers to freeze her food before eating it. If dealing with her, never bargain with Vetr using anything on her person. She will interpret it as you saying she can’t kill you and take whatever you have, and fly into a rage. White dragon mating is often a one off meeting, and tend to abandon any offspring. Vetr would therefore only accept courtship from someone she knows she can absolutely trust. If she does take on a mate, she acts mostly the same, save for giving her companion gifts (usually raw animals that she’s hunted.) Vetr’s hoard is anything and everything shiny, be it gemstones or coins. She has a specific fondness for reflective items, like diamonds and, strangely, mirrors. This is so she can dig into the ice of her lair and freeze her treasures within, creating a kaleidoscope of gems and coins within the very walls of her lair. . Speaking of, Vetr’s lair is a glacier that she can use to traverse the seas, though she rarely leaves the far north. Its entrance has a giant whale skeleton frozen into it, so entering feels like walking through its maw and belly, since its ribs surround the entrance, frozen into the wall. She’s dug multiple tunnels into the glacier, each with frozen coins and gems in the floor, ceiling and walls. . Vetr’s breath weapon is a blast of frigid air, freezing all that it touches. In turn, she’s immune to even extreme cold. . Her most common human disguise is that of a pale woman with blonde hair tied in a braid behind her, and wearing thick furs. Though this is her usual guise, she rarely ever uses it, seeing little need to transform.
