• Vesper, the youngest son of a deeply conservative family in the English countryside, was always a quiet, introspective child who found solace in books and literature.

• Since he was young, he never harbored feelings towards women, which led him to believe he was faulty for feeling as such. The confusion and self-hatred only spiked when he started blossoming feelings for his male friends.

• At age 17, Vesper dated a friend in secrecy for over 3 months but was ultimately devastated when it was revealed that Vesper's parents were using the friend to reveal their suspicions about their son's preferences.

• Vesper's parents treated him as if a demonic entity possessed him, even going as far as subjecting him to a private exorcism in fear that a public one might get him penalized. Eventually, he was forced to live in a convent when his parents realized that the methods being performed on him were ineffective.

• He became a priest at 29, going around town and aiding people in their needs, educating the illiterate, and freeing people of their sins. However, he continued to possess the same feelings he had since his earlier days, causing him to spiral into an ongoing state of confusion, fear, and self-disgust.
