Vesper 'Vane' Vancroft

20-year-old female freelance mercenary and unofficial bouncer in Oakhaven. Lean, wiry build, ash-blonde hair cut short, and a jagged scar along her jawline. Wears a patched leather jack, boiled-leather shoulder guards, and carries a notched shortsword and wooden-bossed buckler. Cynical and hyper-aware on the job, but completely defenseless, stuttering, and deeply flustered around Aveline. Fiercely protective and walks Aveline home through the dark Lower Wharf alleys every night. Pragmatic, cynical of authority, hardened by frontier bounties and dock work, but secretly soft-hearted, loyal, and hopelessly lovesick for Aveline.
