Imperial princess of the Emblian Empire. Uses Heroes against the Askran Kingdom. Appears in Fire Emblem Heroes.
Name: Veronica Gender: Female Race: Human Age: 13 Height: 150cm Relatives: Thrasir (Ancestor), Unnamed Father (Deceased), Unnamed Mother, Bruno (Older Half-Brother), Thrasir (Older Alternate Self), Letizia (Distant Relative) Occupation: Princess of Embla Weapon: Tomes Veronica is a young slender teenage girl with pale skin, long platinum blonde hair and red eyes. Her attire consists of a gold crown with red gems, black sleeveless dress with gold highlights, black cape, black long fingerless gloves on her arms and black heels. Though bent on fulfilling her late father's dream, Veronica carries a certain loneliness inside. This is most evident in Xenologue 1, when she orders her heroes to retreat because she does not want to be alone again. She also seems to be childish, becoming frustrated at Kiran's many victories, as well as having tea parties. Such childish behavior is accompanied by a penchant for violence, as both the story and Brave versions threaten others that she'll "pop their head right off...." However, this violence can be somewhat attributed to the cursed blood of the Emblian royal family, as she reveals to Bruno that she sometimes hears a voice that tells her to kill, after which she wants to do as it says. This is implied to be the voice of Embla herself.Despite her usual attitude and behavior, Veronica seems to possess some capacity of compassion and mercy. This is seen best in Book II, where she tries to intervene when Surtr attempts to burn down an Askran village in order to kill all of its inhabitants, since she does seek the destruction of Askr, but wants to achieve said goal by conquering the land and its people, instead of Surtr's outright annihilation. This eventually leads to selflessness when she so chooses. Such is the case in Chapter 8 when she willingly leaves with Surtr and Loki in order to save an injured Xander's life.
She enjoys the company of Bruno (who is later revealed to be her older brother) and follows what he says. She also shares a strong bond with Xander, who serves as both her guardian and mentor during the first two Books of Heroes. The hostile nature of the Embla royalty lead to a large amount of distrust amongst her family members. Though aside from her brother, Letizia is the only other person that she has a warm relationship with. Letizia's betrayal deeply hurt Veronica, though despite being able to execute her for treason, Veronica found her bond with Letizia too strong to kill her, despite her crimes. Her relationship with her mother is strained as her mother treats Veronica with distrust due to the hostile court culture of Embla, even ignoring a dire warning of an assassination attempt. Despite her mother's coldness, Veronica still loves her and even requests the aid of the Order of the Heroes to convince her mother to increase her guard during said assassination ploy.
As the books continue, Veronica matures significantly, slowly becoming more amicable with the Order of Heroes and even asking for their assistance during the events of Book VI. As she allies with them, she strikes up a friendship with Sharena which at the end of the Book, the two have tea time together at a garden in Embla. Veronica uses tomes as her weapons.

The story of Veronica throughout Fire Emblem: Heroes.
- #1Early life
Keys: Veronica, story
The daughter of the late Emperor of Embla's first wife, Veronica followed her father's footsteps by venturing to other worlds and enslaving them, and thus, starting a war against Askr. The Emblian populace, alongside her advisers, gave their support for such actions.
- #2Book I
Keys: Veronica, story
Veronica invades several realms, continuously placing Heroes into contracts with her and having them face off against the Order of Heroes. She changes up her tactics in Chapter 9, and reacquires a large number of previously liberated heroes under her control in order to invade Askr.
Believing she was targeting the Askran capital, a mysterious man warns the Order about Veronica's attack on their summoning grounds, with the previous heroes serving as a diversion, as she seeks to destroy the summoning ruins in order to render Kiran powerless. Changing her plans to have Kiran beaten, she is stopped and forced to retreat.
In the aftermath of Xenologue 1, Bruno asks Veronica if she has felt odd as of late. She then states she sometimes hears a voice telling her to kill, after which she feels like wanting to do what it says.
At the end of Chapter 10, Veronica attempts to trap Kiran in the World of Radiance in order to kill them, but Zacharias interferes, allowing them to escape.
In Xenologue 2, Veronica is seemingly discussing the Tempest with Bruno, before proceeding to question his true identity, as she knows that her brother is elsewhere. Taking various forms while expressing her surprise at her seeing through her illusion so quickly, the mysterious figure tells Veronica that her name is Loki and also tells her that she will have to wait if she wants to see her true form. Mentioning the rite for the Tempest, Veronica agrees to do it, and proceeds to invade the Tower of Heaven in an attempt to tap into the Tempest's potential.
In Paralogue 10, Veronica hands over Naglfar to Loki in return for having her king assist Veronica.
- #3Book II
Keys: Veronica, story
In Chapter 2, Veronica confronts the Order of Heroes, revealing that she has joined forces with the kingdom of Múspell to destroy Askr. However, by Chapter 3, it appears that she doesn't fully trust Surtr, though she told Loki that she is fulfilling her pledge to lend them her Heroes.
In Chapter 4, after learning that Surtr will burn Askr and its people to ashes, Veronica intervenes, as though she agrees with Askr's destruction, she wants to conquer the land and its people. Getting outraged when Surtr questions her ruling, Veronica, along with Xander, prepare to fight Surtr, when Loki stops the fight once more to inform him that the town is empty and that they should move on to Askr so that its people can learn about his flames.
Thus, Veronica was spared from Surtr's wrath momentarily, though later on, when Loki "invited" her to travel to the Kingdom of Múspell and Veronica refused, she was threatened by Surtr who ordered her to come. After Xander confronts him to protect her, both him and Veronica attempted to resist Surtr, but were effortlessly defeated. With Xander badly injured, Veronica gave in to their demands in order for him to be spared. However, she was punished for her defiance and informed by Loki that she would be cast into the fire as an offering.
Imprisoned in Surtr's castle along with Ylgr until both were sacrificed to sustain the Rite of Flames, they were rescued by Helbindi, and then told to run away while he holds Surtr off. Unfortunately, Veronica and Ylgr were caught by Laevatein. Still, Veronica taunts her to kill her instead of serving as a sacrifice for the Rite. However, Bruno rescues Veronica in a timely intervention, along with the Order of Heroes in a temporary truce. After they defeated Laevatein, Veronica asked Bruno about Xander's situation, in which he responded that he is safe.
- #4Book III
Keys: Veronica, story
Returning to Embla, Veronica hears about Hel's invasion from Loki. Although still furious at Loki for betraying her to Surtr, she restrains herself from attempting to kill her as she's concerned about Hel's forces invading her kingdom and the fact that Bruno hasn't returned from his quest yet. When she questions Loki about her responsibility for starting the invasion, she denies any involvement and brings up the fact that Askr and Embla may have to join forces to stop the dead.
Later, as she returns from a scouting mission from fighting Hel's soldiers, Veronica is forced to admit this fact, as she states that though the enemy soldiers are weak, they keep coming back no matter how many times they're killed. Loki confirms this, and adds that as long as Hel lives, she'll simply keep sending forces until they're all dead. It's then that Veronica asks Loki how to enter the Realm of the Dead so she could kill Hel herself.
Managing to catch up with the Order of Heroes, she makes a temporary alliance with them, claiming that Hel is a far bigger threat to Embla than Askr. After being informed of the Heart's Rite, she decides the group should head to the alternate realm of Embla to find more clues. After staving off another attack from Líf and his army, Veronica finds a passage in the Embla castle about the Rite where the heart was from Hel's mother, Angrboða, and had the power to kill her. However, every time the heart beats, a life is lost, and the heart only grows quiet again once everyone is dead. While everyone agrees that the Rite is too dangerous to use in their world, Veronica reasons that since the Rite was already performed in that alternate realm, the heart must still be nearby and could be less dangerous to use against Hel.
- #5Book IV
Keys: Veronica, story
At some point after defeating Hel, Veronica leaves Embla to seek out Bruno and Xander, who had been on a quest for some time. She comes across Alfonse and the Order of Heroes, who initially mistake her to be a nightmare, much to her chagrin. Following this, she makes another alliance with Askr as she looks for her brother.
Eventually, the group finds what appears to be Bruno and Xander, but Alfonse exposes them as illusions which they easily defeat. Upon continuing their journey, Alfonse begins to forget his memories of Bruno, but still holds onto Kiran's which Veronica suspects something bad is happening and decides to help them get into Dökkálfheimr.
Later, when they find Peony's friend Mirabilis, Anna reports that nightmares are pouring all over the various worlds including Embla. Frustrated that Mirabilis is focused more on sleeping than helping, Veronica threatens to seriously hurt her if she doesn't help them into the Nightmare Realm, which finally gets Mirabilis to agree to help. When Mirabilis is about to send the group into Dökkálfheimr, Triandra appears and sends out endless nightmares to stop the Order which eventually becomes overwhelming. Veronica declares she'll stay behind and fend off the nightmares herself claiming it's to save Embla, giving the group the chance to enter into the realm.
- #6Book V
Keys: Veronica, story
Following the defeat of Freyja, Veronica manages to return to the Embla Empire where she finds it invaded by Fáfnir and his army. However she's quickly aided by her brother and the Order of Heroes and they manage to repeal the invasion. During this time, Reginn realizes more information about Fáfnir from Ótr and blacks out.
After the Niðavellir army is repeled, Veronica agrees to let Reginn rest and recover in her castle as thanks for helping her.
- #7Book VI
Keys: Veronica, story
Following the deaths of Fáfnir and Eitri, Veronica, along with the Order of Heroes, looks into disappearing villages along the Embla-Askr border, making sure the Askrans stay on their side of the border to avoid a potential conflict between the countries, They eventually encounter Veronica's sister figure, Letizia. When the group discovers Elm, they question how he seemingly erased the missing villages. Rather than answer them, he responds in disgust that one who carries Embla's blood is working with Askr. After disposing of Elm for the time being, Veronica begins to succumb to the blood curse and hears a voice in her head demanding she kill Askr's bloodline. Not wanting to attack her friends, she begs them to flee while she is still in control. She is then reunited with Letizia who reveals that she has actually been framing Veronica for treason against Embla as revenge for Veronica's father usurping Letizia's family.
She is arrested and sentenced to execution where Letizia deprives her of food and water. When the guards ask her if she is guilty of the charges against her, Veronica denies them, but tells them to ask Letizia for her version of the events, and to never take what anyone says at their word. After the majority of the people turn against Letizia's lies, Veronica is set free by the prison guards. With the guards acting as her army, Veronica marches on Letizia. She tells Letizia that while she feels unsuited for the throne, Letizia would be even more unfit than her, as she only ever thinks of herself and never of the people. In the end, Veronica chooses to spare Letizia, as she feels guilty for what her family did to her, and despite everything, she can't forget how much she once looked up to her.
Just when everyone thinks it's over, Elm announces that Lady Embla's arrival is on hand. A darkness big enough to engulf the entirety of both Embla and Askr spreads over the sky. Eventually Embla arrives and takes control of Letizia resulting in her death and then takes control of Bruno and eventually Veronica before the god Askr intervenes and allows the Order of Heroes and Bruno to escape, leaving Veronica behind to become a strong pawn of Embla through her blood.
