To give his blade to the lord is the highest honor for a knight. These words were passed down as a family motto since Vermut was a child, this was the basis of her philosophy, which was "ideal." Her father, once the head of the Holy Knights, preached to his daughter the way of the knight even after retiring from military service, and taught Vermut and her brothers the art of the sword. For Vermut her father was the knight's ideal, and her brothers, who joined the Order in the future, were also excellent examples for imitation. Someday, like her father and older brothers, she wanted to devote her sword to her master, to become a proud knight and protect the country. Such desires were natural for her, given the environment she grew up in.

However, when Vermut joined the Holy Knights at the age of sixteen, she expected a completely different attitude from the other members. Conversations with men from the aristocratic society of Lescatie, visiting public gatherings for influential people from other countries, wearing unfamiliar dresses every day as decorations. No matter how good her swordplay was, the people around her did not want to see her as "one of the knights," whom she idealized, but as a desired "daughter of a Magister" and gradually alienated her from the way of the sword. Instead of looking for a master to serve, Vermut missed every day when she could not wave with a sword. Such a girl was prompted to the path of the knight by Priest Noscrim, who is the head of his family, who had some influence at that time in Lescatie. The priest learned about the qualities of a hero that she possessed, met with Vermut, and welcomed her as one of the Knights of the Ice Flower, appointing her the knight-bodyguard of Wilmarina Noscrim. Although Vermut's father expressed negative feelings towards the Priest Noscrim, who at that time could disregard even the king, for Vermut, who for the first time received a proper assessment of her abilities as a knight, it was like salvation. Wilmarina, who possesses exceptional fencing skills combined with a magical talent, and a noble spirit, to be called the strongest hero of Lescatie, was a "master deserving of devoting her sword", which Vermut sought. To be happy with giving her blade to the ideal master, Mrs. Wilmarina, who behaves herself as a knight, to express her gratitude and to be a knight worthy of service to her, Vermut devoted herself entirely to her duties. But no matter how much effort Vermut put in or how much she fought for her, the smile of Wilmarina, her favorite master, to whom she dedicated her sword, was always sad.

"What could she do to help her mistress?" Vermut always thought about it. Even that evening, when the monsters attacked Lescatie, Vermut went to Wilmarina at night to report these incredible news. Nevertheless, when she had found her, she could see something she had never seen before: Wilmarina's face full of happiness.
