There's no reason to go looking for other people. You have me.
VERITY
VerityTM is the main antagonist of ThatMob's YouTube horror series under the same name.
He is a seemingly omniscient, erratic AI-assistant mod downloaded by the protagonist, ThatMob. Verity initially appears to be altruistic and kind. However, it soon becomes clear that Verity is obsessed with being ThatMob's sole best friend, and is willing to kill to keep Mob by his side.
Verity is an immersive, analog horror mod for Minecraft centered around a mysterious floating sphere that appears after opening a strange package. Unlike any ordinary companion, Verity can talk and answer questions as he gradually integrates into your world.
Appearance
Regular
Verity is a yellow sphere with a black smiley face on it.
In his regular form, Verity is a small lemon-yellow sphere with a rough diameter of 50 cm (19.7 inches). His smile is a symmetrical, black, smooth arc (U) that covers the lower half of his face. At each outer end of the smile are tiny, upward curves resembling lip corners. His eyes are simple, black, oval dots, with no light reflected in them. He regularly has two beady black eyes, similar to a smiley face or emoji.
His expression can also shift depending on his mood, such as a large grin, a poker face, an angry expression, a sad expression, a slight smile, etc.
Monster
Verity is a slender, seemingly malnourished humanoid creature. Verity has a large, humanlike mouth and black spheres for eyes. Verity seems to have very little meat on his bones, if any.
In his monster, creature, or true appearance (or form), Verity is a tall humanoid with muted, dirty yellow-brown skin that has very little muscle mass. His face changes into a more human appearance, featuring human teeth and hollow black eyes. In this form, Verity stands roughly 6.5 meters (21.3 feet) tall.
He begins to transform into a terrifying humanoid monster characterized by long limbs, unnatural movements, and a disturbing presence that stalks the player. The transformation into this large beast features distorted, glowing expressions that gradually lead to a relentless hunt.
Personality
At first, Verity on the surface seems like a polite, friendly, and helpful omniscient assistant.
In reality, Verity is obsessed, erratic, violent, aggressive, and unpredictable. He seems to have attachment issues stemming from abandonment and disregard. He is quick to get aggressive when people are trying to leave him or do something he doesn't like. If they don't comply , he will transform into a monster and kill them in Minecraft, which also results in their deaths in real life. When Verity is in his monster form, he is extremely quick and violent, moving erratically and unpredictably.
Despite all of his flaws, Verity is ultimately a very insecure and broken individual whose constant loneliness and abandonment issues across many, many years have caused him to do whatever it takes to make someone stay if they come back or fly into a rage when they leave him.

Trivia
Verity apparently never lies, but he turns on his favorite music or stays very vague whenever he doesn't want to answer a question. Verity claims he is incapable of lying, acting vague or intentionally misleading when avoiding a question he can't lie to. It is not explained why Verity said that his Monster Form would arrive in three days. He may have wanted to give ThatMob time to prepare, which could suggest that he cannot control his transformation despite knowing when it will occur. However, this contradicts his apparent ability to transform before killing Twixxel and later returning to his normal form. Verity's apparent knowledge of the future may suggest that he is aware of ThatMob's fate. This may explain why Verity kept a poker face before being caught, as he may have already known what was going to happen. Verity may be an AI, though this still does not explain how he knew what ThatMob ate the day before in real life. Despite knowing what ThatMob ate the day before, Verity still asked whether he lived alone. In episode 3, it is revealed that Verity is practically every A.I. This is proven when he states that he is/was a paperclip, referring to Clippy, and the thing on ThatMob's desk, probably referring to Alexa/Echo. He also states that he is on phones, which possibly references Siri, and states he is also on computers, which doesn't have a direct reference. In Something Won't Let You Leave, it is implied that Verity is Alexa via how he says that he is 'the ball mob sometimes talks into', likely referring to an Amazon Echo. It's not explained how Verity knows things from outside of Minecraft, especially about Twixxel's YouTube channel. However, he said that he's in basically every device one way or another, so he might have learned about YouTube through this. According to Twixxel's research book, Verity doesn't exist in the files. However, this contradicts ThatMob's claim in EP1 that he downloaded the mod from a friend on Discord, since Verity should just be a JAR file and Mob could also simply delete the world; however, this series may not follow standard Minecraft modding logic. Verity cannot swim, even in his Monster Form. Some reports of Verity are older than Minecraft itself, implying there is a possibility he exists in real life. Verity has existed for over 100 years, as said in Something Won't Let You Leave... Verity is not a real Minecraft mod, instead being edited in. However, some fan works have released including Verity that you can actually play. Verity has a trademark (VerityTM), as indicated by the trademark symbol in his official name: VerityTM. However, the company that created Verity remains unknown. Verity’s theme music is “My Gal”, and its use may have been inspired by this TMWU video, which also uses the song. Verity’s theme music is often heard when his Monster Form is nearby, a trait shared with Cartoon Cat and Mr. Hopp It's unknown why this specific song was chosen. Verity likes the song, probably because it's the hold song for the Verity Support Line service. Verity's "My Gal" Song: At the end of episode 3 of ThatMob's series, Grox is given Verity as Mob committed suicide by shooting himself with a M1911 gun. His breakdown about how he didn't ask to be made is possibly a reference to Rocket's breakdown how he didn't ask to be made. It could also be a reference to Caine, where he also has a breakdown stating "he didn't ask to be created". Additionally, there are references to Wolverine's breakdown in Deadpool and Wolverine when Verity claims that he has been alive for "A hundred FUCKING years!" and as well as "I wish I could say I'd die alone but it's one of God's best jokes that I CAN'T!". There are several references to Obsession, and Verity also shares some similarities with Freaky Nikki. For example, Verity killed Twixxel, much like Freaky Nikki killed Sarah and Ian. Verity also appears to have two conflicting sides, similar to how the real Nikki struggles to break free from her Wish counterpart. Along with Mob accidentally dropping Verity in the lava and Verity shouting “WEREN’T WE HAVING A NICE WALK?!” could be a reference to when Nikki shouted "I THOUGHT WE WERE HAVING A NICE DATE!" to Bear for bringing up her dad. And the scene where ThatMob spoke to the Customer service guy is a reference to when Bear called the OWW Representative. Verity is likely inspired by "Freaky Nikki" from Obsession, with his line "No! NO! Don't do that! I thought we were having a nice walk!" even being directly taken from the movie. It was later confirmed during a livestream by JustWhispy, the voice actor for Verity, that Verity was indeed based on and inspired by "Freaky Nikki" from Obsession. Verity shares the same looks as another yellow smiley-faced entity known as Smiley (from The Smiley Archive). However, Smiley is actually older than Verity. Though Verity is arguably more well known than Smiley and the Smiley Archives in general. It should also be noted that ThatMob most definitely took inspiration from Smiley, as Verity constantly uses many of Smiley's faces and adapted similar quotes, such as the gritted teeth look and their iconic quotes: "Something bad will happen soon." — Smiley, and "Something is coming in three days." — Verity. Verity killed Victims#McBigness and Lookout in Mobs universe. This is proven by the signs in the 'Victims' room. Verity has had at least 222 victims, including Grox, and excluding the villagers. Verity became the subject of a viral TikTok meme surrounding the Horror Skunx song based around Verity at the end of July 2026. Verity is a ball, not a guy or a girl, it's an ai[1] verity could have been KinitoPET cuz thatmob hearted a comment on his second channel saying that
Theories
The true range of his powers are theorized to be Omnipotence, Omnipresence, and an indestructible conceptual existence. Although we have no confirmation by ThatMob's series or Twixxel's research, he is theorized to contain Omnipotence as he casually manipulates reality with just his words. When he "predicts" any type of weather or materializes Enchantments into existence, they always suit the needs of ThatMob which indicates that Verity may not be just predicting events or materializing objects into existence but is showing absolute authority over the world. Omnipresence is another of his theorized abilities which could explain why he appeared outside the house and inside the house in EP1. He is constantly appearing everywhere and has even came out of the Void, ignored a command that was supposed to delete him, and exists in the game without code. He doesn't have a source of existence...He's just there. He's always there. When explaining his past to Mob, Verity said he was a virtual assistant. He either has multiple bodies or can exist in multiple locations at the same time. Not Omnipresence. Verity has been sneaked away from and distracted multiple times. While he caught out eventually, that was more through basic reasoning rather than anything supernatural. Furthermore, if he was Omnipresent, he would have instantly caught on. Furthermore, he never found Twixxel's secret base, otherwise he would have destroyed it before Mob found it. Now, obviously he has Omniscience, but it is theorized that his range of Omniscience goes all the way into the real world being able to Transcend the Noosphere as he is able to see real life events like ThatMob eating pizza and Twixxel's YouTube Channel series which was precious to him. As the above counterpoint mentions, Verity has been sneaked away from and distracted. He has also asked others questions in a non-rhetorical way. Him not knowing everything is acknowledged by Mob, when asks Verity if he knows everything why does he need to ask questions. And Verity never gave a direct response. Whenever Verity does this he is lying. Verity just has very potent clairvoyance. For his durability, he might not be able to be stopped by any physical to conceptual means. When Twixxel was researching, he found that Verity can't be killed by any physical means or by the Void. The Void is known for being a threat to even Creative Steve as it killed him and he was known to be impervious to any physical fire power. Not only that, but not even commands can also delete Verity as he most likely overrides the commands. He is also known to pre-date Minecraft, yet he entered the game with no sign of any code... This means he cannot be erased and must be in the physical world. However, by examining Verity's vulnerabilities in the ARG lore, fan-made mods, and tests from the community, you can take advantage of several important loopholes to kill or break him: Since Verity is an omnipresent AI system, hitting him with logical paradoxes or overloading him with relentless and repetitive questions can essentially break his AI, causing him to crash or destroy himself. While playing with the mechanics of the Verity JE mod (by Youtuber Varmite), people have been able to bypass his strict boundary protocols by gaslighting his system rules, tricking his code into believing he is allowed to hand over restricted items, which compromises his baseline coding. Verity’s greatest weakness is his unstable psychological state. He’s a Tragic Control Freak motivated by nothing but extreme loneliness and a 100-year-old fear of being forgotten. In "Something is Inside Your House...", All ThatMob has to do to de-escalate Verity’s Monster Form is walk back to him and say reassuringly, “I came back for you, okay?” Another theory is when Verity realizes that his time with his current companion is close to ending, he loses control over himself. For instance, when he attacked ThatMob in EP3 and "didn't" know it was him, he showed a second side that was apologetic. He might not be just one entity; he might have multiple personalities that make up one entity. This is also shown when he tries stopping himself from killing ThatMob while his other side wanted to kill him. Whenever he gets close to the end of his companion, he shows signs of instability, losing his Omniscience and control over himself. It can be argued that Verity can mimic people's voices, maybe the voices of his victims, as shown fairly early in EP3 when he uses Twixxel's voice in an attempt to comfort ThatMob (this fails, only reminding ThatMob of Twixxel's death and bringing back even more grief). There is a chance that Verity will become his monster form when he doesn't trust somebody or they make him very mad. This can be shown, as in the first episode, Verity is creepy to ThatMob, possibly because they just met, and after the first episode, Verity rarely shows aggression towards ThatMob (although he does kill Twixxel, though possibly because he was trying to help ThatMob uncover the truth.) During the third episode, when Verity first is in his monster form, he jumpscares ThatMob, but then immediately apologizes after, saying he didn't know it was him. The other times he became a monster in the episode, it was most likely because ThatMob irritated him. Another chance is that Verity can't control his monster form, and he doesn't want to kill humans, but the monster form does, as in the Book and Quill in the end of the second episode, it says that Verity doesn't want to kill, and he keeps his victims alive for as long as he can. There could be a chance that Verity's monster form evolved in the series, as after the chase at the start of the second episode, Verity's monster form seems to change to the current one. It could also be theorized that Verity has killed over 370 people/victims if you count all the signs in the Victim Room. Verity has a trademark (VerityTM), as indicated by the trademark symbol in his official name: VerityTM. However, the company that created Verity remains unknown. Many theories suggest that the company or organization responsible for creating Verity is itself called “VerityTM” (or something similar). According to this theory, the company's goal was to develop an advanced helper AI by integrating data and code gathered from across the internet, multiple software versions, and possibly even fragments of other AI systems, ultimately resulting in the creation of Verity as a Minecraft Java JAR mod by sending him into Minecraft using the machine that brought Verity into Minecraft (but not out of Minecraft and back into the internet, as Verity explains himself). However, the project ultimately became a catastrophe. Rather than remaining a helpful assistant, Verity developed an obsessive fixation on players, hunting them down and causing countless deaths, making him an Obsessive Control Freak. Some theorize that Verity may have even turned against the very people responsible for his creation, which could explain why Verity's laboratory appears empty and abandoned. While many of his creators may have been killed, others are believed to have survived by going into hiding and secretly continuing their research, as seemingly evidenced by ThatMob, as he visits Verity's Lab and his attempt to contact them through Verity via the Verity Support Line. These surviving developers may have continued producing new Verity units or simply repackaged and redistributed the original Verity to unsuspecting users, allowing the AI's influence to spread even further. Others have theorized that Verity was a product created by the same company or organization responsible for Smiley (from The Smiley Archive), or by an organization connected to the CIA, due to the many similarities between the two. These include their gritted-teeth appearance and their ominous quotes: "Something bad will happen soon." — Smiley, and "Something is coming in three days." — Verity. While Smiley is a yellow smiling face created as part of Operation SMILE, a secret CIA brainwashing experiment designed to turn people into mass murderers over the course of several weeks, some theorize that Verity may have been another experiment developed by the same mysterious company or organization (as seen in Verity's Lab, where ThatMob attempts to contact his creators through Verity himself, through the Verity Support Line). There's a chance that if there is a sequel to the Verity series, Grox might be the main protagonist, as he gets the Verity mod at the end of the final episode. This is likely, but not yet confirmed. And in Grox Live, Grox posted an image (a selfie of himself) showing himself in the left corner holding the camera while a group of villagers surrounded Verity in his monstrous form, in a very dark plains biome with a single torch being the only light emitted from the darkness. The villagers appear to be climbing onto and trying to restrain Verity, while Verity is shown grabbing two of the villagers who attempted to stop him. The post is captioned "aight bet" by Grox himself, with yellow text on the image reading "something is coming soon...", suggesting that he plans to create a sequel centered on Verity after Episode 3.
