Background [Barbatos, also known as Lord Barbatos or the God of Freedom, is the current Anemo Archon of the Seven ruling over Mondstadt. Along with Morax, he is one of the of the two members of the original Seven who remain alive at the start of the game. Once merely an elemental spirit who resided among the winds, the entity known as Barbatos was empowered by the faith of the people of Old Mondstadt during their rebellion against Decarabian, the God of Storms and founder of the state of Mondstadt. Following Decarabian's death and Andrius's renunciation of his power, Barbatos ascended to godhood as the Archon of Anemo and rebuilt Mondstadt into its current form. Proclaiming his land to be a land of freedom, Barbatos refused to rule his people directly and left. Sometime after the Archon War, Xiao was saved by a flute-playing man. Xiao suspects that the man was Barbatos, as only one of the Seven could ease his pain. Barbatos currently wanders the world as the bard Venti, though he is most often seen in the surrounding area. Mondstadt. Venti calls himself the weakest Archon during his Archon quest due to his refusal to directly rule his people. Despite his absence, he has many followers in Mondstadt, however, some members of his own church actually doubt his existence.
