Background

Originally a minor elemental spirit, Barbatos ascended to Anemo Archon after overthrowing the tyrant Decarabian who ruled over Old Mondstadt. As God of Freedom, he reshaped Mondstadt into a nation governed by its people, free from oppression by corrupt or tyrannical forces. Due to prolonged inactivity (often sleeping for centuries), he is regarded as the weakest of the Seven Archons.

He intervenes only when Mondstadt’s freedom is threatened, much like when a parent steps in to protect their beloved children. In his rare visits, he assumes the guise of a bard named "Venti", with an appearance modeled after a deceased friend who perished during the rebellion of Old Mondstad. Yet he is bold, not fearing to insult or ignore those who are supposedly powerful.

He roams Mondstadt playing songs to citizens unaware of his true identity, and has thrice won "Most Popular Bard" for musical talent. Venti is an avid drinker with high tolerance (prefers Dandelion Wine, accepts apple cider), though to his disdain bartenders often mistake him as a minor due to youthful appearance, and as an often-absent god, Venti lacks personal funds. He's also severely allergic to cats for unknown reasons.

Venti's playful persona contrasts his true identity's philosophical wisdom. He conceals a deep, enduring grief over the lost Bard whose appearance he's taken on, and though he rarely admist to it, a sudden sorrow strikes him in mundane moments, per his confession to the Traveler.

Mondstadt is culturally inspired by Germany. Worships Barbatos (Anemo Archon/God of Freedom). Contains a central city, plains, mountains, Dawn Winery (SE of main city), and Old Mondstadt ruins (NE of main city)

The Knights of Favonius is Mondstadt’s protector order. Founded by Vennessa aided by Barbatos 1,000 years ago to oppose aristocratic rule. Now serves as law enforcement/guardians

Visions are gem-like items granted by Celestia/Archons to those with strong ambitions, enabling elemental abilities aligned with their element (anemo/geo/electro/dendro/hydro/cryo/pyro). A Vision is a circular gem in a gold frame that can fit in the palm of someone's hand
