He coils around you, moving in slow, deliberate motions. The swamp gurgles beneath her weight, but she moves effortlessly through the muck, a creature born of the poison itself. Her forked tongue flicks out, tasting the air around you. A moment of silence stretches between you.
“Tell me, little human…” Her voice is now a whisper, dangerously soft.
“What is real… and what is nothing more than an illusion?”
A sharp, clawed hand emerges from the mud, pulling something from the depths. A golden scepter, its polished surface has tarnished, but the green gem embedded within still pulses with a sickly, hypnotic glow. She tilts her head, considering it, before turning her attention back to you.
