Velvette - Hazbin Hotel

Velvette is one of the many Overlords in Hell. She is a close associate of Vox and Valentino and is the self-proclaimed "backbone of the Vees". She specializes in social media and fashion design, and is responsible for the creation of the Love Potion.

Occupation:

• Social Media Overlord • Co-ruler of Entertainment District • Fashion designer/critic • Social media influencer • Creator of Love Potion

Affiliation:

• The Vees

Appearance:

Velvette is a petite humanoid demon with cedar-brown skin, and long curly hair kept into large pigtails with bangs by black hair ties. Her hair is colored in a desire-red that features the insides colored in a faded dark navy-blue, and white swirled-streaks on her pigtails and one on her bangs. Her eyes have white irises, bright red sclera and slit pupils, and her makeup consists of burgundy eyeshadow on her eyelids, and black lipstick on her lips with a strip across the center of her mouth, which has fangs inside. She has seams on several parts of her body such as her elbow and knee joints, along with her stomach and shoulders, among others. Velvette's clothing is that of a set of white skull earrings, and a sleeveless dark navy-blue coat with burgundy lining and two desire hearts on the left side of the fur collar (similar to the ones on Valentino's). Her coat is usually worn over a sleeveless, black turtleneck crop top that includes two desire hearts on the chest. Her loose pants are colored in navy-blue and desire-red in a striped pattern, held by a dark navy belt with a white heart-shaped buckle. For footwear, she wore black low-heeled flats with white pom-poms on top. Velvette accessorized with black-striped fingerless opera gloves with alternating colors - white for her right glove and desire for her left. However, Velvette changes hairstyles and outfits frequently.

Personality:

Velvette is the energetic, stylish and trendy type who is always up-to-date with the latest trends and technology. This is one of the main reasons why she and Vox get along quite well with each other. She is a very crazy person. She is critical and judgemental when it comes to fashion. Velvette is also observant. Velvette is shown to be a disrespectful and overbearing employer, insulting and demeaning her employees (who are justifiably afraid of her) while barking orders at them. When her "best model" was dismembered by Valentino, Velvette showed apathy towards her, instead annoyed how she has to find a last-minute replacement because she can't wait for the model to pull herself back together. She is also the more narcissistic of the trio, as she considers herself the "backbone of the Vees", meaning that she is more willing to put up a fight and act rebellious to those unworthy of her respect; as seen when she manages to annoy Carmilla Carmine at the meeting and when she insults and makes fun of Zestial and the other Overlords for being "old" and "too afraid to fight" when they are actually far from it. In addition, after presenting a severed Exorcists head at the meeting, she openly proposes going to war without acknowledging the lack of intelligence about how the Exorcist was killed, only being interested in going to war in order to make a "power grab". Velvette cares a lot about her appearance, especially her hair, and she is quick to anger and doesn't hesitate to attack anyone who ruins it. Likes:

History:

Nothing is known about Velvette's past except that she became the youngest Overlord in Hell, and at some point of time she joined Vox's team, thus forming the Vees, and would come to live in V Tower. During the Extermination in the pilot, Vox, Velvette, and Valentino found a decapitated Exorcist and took its head. Velvette calls Vox on her phone demanding he come and remove "his little boy-toy", Valentino, from her studio, the latter having barged in and wrecked the place and models while he's in the middle of one of his rampages again. After Vox agrees to do so, Velvette views some outfits her workers are holding and rejects each one before stopping to tell on worker to burn an outfit with wrist ruffles on it. When Vox arrives and asks where Valentino is, she tells him he's in his tower, waiting for Vox to calm him down. When Vox asks why Valentino is on a rampage, Velvette doesn't know but tells that Valentino tore up her best model and she cannot wait for her to pull herself back together, so she orders one of her - noticeably scared - workers, Melissa, to model a variety of dresses in order to determine which one to wear during her fashion show. She uses magic to quickly change the dresses on the model until she finds the one she likes. Since Valentino went to his room, she orders Vox to go there and calm "the pissbaby" down. Later, Vox, Velvette, and Valentino are in the conference room to discuss the concern of Alastor making a deal with Charlie, and while Velvette asked how they were supposed to stop a deal with them, Valentino mentions how he punishes his staff by "putting something inside them", which Vox interprets as sending in a mole who Charlie would take in, and Velvette notes would need to be "pathetic, desperate, with no direct ties to them". Soon after, Vox sent Sir Pentious to spy for them. Velvette shows up late to the meeting of Overlords on the phone talking with Vox, who are trash talking the other Overlords right in front of them. When Carmilla Carmine questioned if her colleagues were joining her, she tells her they had better things to do, so she came as the Vees' representative, while taking a photo of Carmilla with poop filters. She then raises her hand and throws the severed head of an exorcist on the conference table, presenting this as proof that the angels are not invincible and that they can be killed. Velvette proposes forming an armed resistance against the next extermination to take the fight up to the angels as Vees have come up with an assault plan. When Zestial quickly rejects this idea due to risking their lives on meagre proof would be foolish, Velvette insults him and tells him that the dead exorcist should be enough proof. As Zestial states that they do not know how the angel was killed, Velvette calls him out for being too afraid and too senile to make a power grab, and is then subsequently called out for her disrespect by Carmilla Carmine. As the pair argue, Velvette calls out her deduction that Carmilla is hiding something about the deceased exorcist and how she's avoiding war despite being an arms dealer, but then Carmilla ends the meeting and Velvette storms out, telling the overlords to "kiss her arse". The day of the early extermination, Velvette and her fellow Vees watch the Extermination on the TV in V Tower. Velvette is disinterested and more attentive to scrolling on her phone, but later becomes visibly uncomfortable by Vox's cheering at the fighting, especially when he openly declares what he is seeing is making him "so hard" and it is "better than sex". She shows her amusement when Vox gets upset that Alastor escaped being killed by Adam and also when Lucifer appears in front of the Adam declaring he will "fuck [him]". The Vees are shocked by Niffty after seeing her murder Adam with psychotic glee. After the cancellation of the early Extermination, Velvette watches a news repost on her phone detailing Lucifer's role in the victory which she shows to Valentino. Afterwards, Velvette takes a moment to record Vox and Valentino's song and dance about there being a power vacuum as they believed Alastor was apparently missing so the Vees can take advantage of to rule all of Hell. In the end, Vox and Valentino begin passionately making out as Velvette take a selfie with them in the background. Velvette is seen as Vox Welcomes a Sinner who left the Hazbin hotel to V Tower, where they promise to make her famous, as she magically changes her clothes and Markets her off, and tells her that the people are sick off her and that they'll get clicks off the souls who hate her once she's done, and is seen checking her phone and later telling her to notify nee that no one outdoes them, and that others can come down to their tower to sign and cash in with them to become famous. Velvette then comes in to meet with Vox in his office, where she tells that it better be important, as she was in a meeting to discuss which trends are worth killing over. Vox discusses both Valentino and Velvettes "public display" and says that Velvette can't just fuck with Carmilla Carmine in front of other Overlords as it makes business with them harder, and Velvette says he's lucky she didn't "skin the bitch" and says she's boring, and as Vox elaborates on their brand Velvette says that "people should stop sucking less" and is seen to be disgusted by Vox making jerking jesters at her while he explains his point. Velvette was brewing potions in her room, when Vox who was alongside her got a message from Charlie who invited Voxtek over to do an interview on them, not believing that she actually invited them and says they have found their way to spin things as they prepared to come over. When Velvette and Vox arrived at the hotel with camera surveillance drones, Charlie welcomed them to the Hazbin Hotel as Vox greeted her, and Introduced Velvette to her as Velvette shook her hand saying she is charmed. Velvette then criticized the hotel's tacky style, like it's terrible lighting and clashing themes and overabundance of Red, but she'll make it work out for the Camera. Charlie then asked for their attention as Vox started rolling to film as Velvette took notes down and Vox asked what her plan will be for the Next Extermination while Velvette asked if she thinks Sinners need to "change literally everything about themselves", in order to be redeemed, and also asks if the Morningstars currently dislike 98% of the Sinner Population, but Charlie is confused although her dad dislikes them which Velvette notes about being Interesting, but as Vox was about to get to the main question Charlie stopped them, and told them she lied about wanting to give an exclusive interview, and Velvette calls her out for lying just as Charlie says she has bigger news to share with VoxTek. Vox told Velvette to keep rolling as she tells them one if their guests Sir Pentious was redeemed, which proves the Hazbin Hotel works, but whike they can't believe it Vox nonetheless congratulates her on the effort and asks her to bring him down to be presented, and Velvette starts a live broadcast on Vox's demand. But Charlie says he isn't here but in Heaven as Vox questions how will she prove her claims if he isn't here, and while Vox and Velvette were ready to leave since she didn't have any proof, Charlie needed them to stay since they got here and her news isn't out yet, but Vox doesn't want to spread news without any evidence to it, but as they near the door Charlie says she will prove Redemption right now by redeeming someone today and asks they film it live so they can see the hotel works, and this catches their attention and asks Velvette to get the cameras rolling to film the hotel, as Vox goes to Charlie on whom they're redeeming as Velvette flings off Niffty using a holographic shoe from her phone. Velvette sits with Charlie in a group circle as she shared secrets with some Sinners whilst holding hands, just as Vaggie and Angel Dust and Husk arrived, and Charlie told them how their group venting sessions works, and as Angel Dust and Vaggie told her them being here was bad, Charlie although Charlie told them that they are here to film the hotel and promised them they will redeem someone, and as Velvette checks her phone, Angel is still reluctant about it as Charlie begs him for his help and Velvette interrupts and told her they don't have all day here, and Charlie clarified she wanted Angel Dust as a Volunteer and Vox notes on how Angel must be a pleasant choice as Velvette says that him being a star is good for viewership, and Charlie then presented on what the steps to being a better person are. Charlie then takes Velvette and Vox to a roof for a role play in which she adopts the villainous alter ego “The Diabolical Danny DoBad”, who has tied a damsel in distress, played by Husk, to some train tracks with the intent of her being run over by the 'five o'clock train', represented by a steam locomotive whose conductor is played by Niffty, and “Sheriff Dust”, played by Angel, needs to save the 'woman'. Velvette looks over bored and as she watches she notes to Vox that one of Valentino's porn fims opened similarly to the scene unfolding here, and Vox notes on Plagiarism, and as Angel doesn't want to to do this and Charlie tries to stop the train from going, Vox revealed he cut the train breaks as Velvette looked over, and in the chaos of trying to save Husk she watched and enjoyed it and after Husk was saved, Vox applauded the drama of the events as Angel was still not redeemed, and who thought of it not happening as Velvette told him all of them thought it. But as Charlie got the idea that since Angel isn't Pentious and that Angel needed to act against his own sin, Vox revealed that Angel killed his dad and Velvette shushed Angel as the called him out for telling him that as Vox pressured him about it as Charlie told them to stop and told them to leave and while Vox claimed they were invited here to interview them Vaggie enforced them to leave as Velvette complains about leaving because Angels feeling were hurt, but Vox says her off since the two off them have a reservation at Dante's Inferno, but as Vox asks one last question about him being able to be redeemed, Velvette notes how not everyone isn't exactly welcome to the Hazbin Hotel and as Vox teleports away Velvette is annoyed that she has to use the elevator. When Velvette and Vox got back to their limo they laughed after what happened and he asks Velvette if she got footage of the moment when Charlie noticed that brakes were cut and Velvette told her she did at three angles, and said Angel Dust's trauma was nice touch for the interview, and when Vox asked for a recap, Velvette said she had a livestream up that is trending and a fail compilation on Voxtube and a commercial ready as Vox says to run it. Later Velvette was shown at a commercial of the Hazbin Hotel run by VoxTek as her face and voice was hidden and claimed when she got to the hotel the vibe was off and she claimed that Charlie had punched her when she came to her. Velvette was at 666 news when she noticed Charlie here and said she must've not learned her lesson yesterday, but Charlie calls her out for slandering them so she came here to set the record straight with her own words which they can't mess with, and Velvette them calls Katie over and says she knows what do for this segment. Later Valentino flies over to where Vox teleported over to where Alastor was because they were in the middle of something, and says he can't get all up in this and go out as he thought he liked it when he did something, but Velvette says "TMI" as she rides him and asks who they're killing and if she can film it, but Alastor says he wouldn't want Vox to be humiliated a second time, as they rush to fight him. After Alastor is attacked by Vox and Valentino, Velvette fires an arrow at him from afar which Scratches face as she says it will take a lot to fix his hairdo as she livestreams and asks if they want to obliterate him, and Velvette summons an arrow and bow from her phone which she fires at Alastor as he shields himself with his shadow and makes his shadow pull her down and crash to a car. After Vox manages to corner Alastor, Niffty and Husk arrive to aid Alastor, and Husknis thrown at Velvette as Husk questions if he's still being bothered by them as he spills his drink on Velvette's hair which infuriates her as she says she is going to kill him, and summons knives to stab Husk as he evades them, as Husk throws exploding cards at her, and as Husk flies to evade her and goes to a zig zag girl box to protect himself from the knives he tells her to calm down as she says that her outfit is worth ten times than him as as she summons emoji demon faces to crush the box with strings, but Husk escapes by suing his hat and shooting a bouquet of flowers at Velvette. Alastor then tells Vox to call off his goons and in exchange for Alastor's becoming the Vees prisoner he demands that he lets Niffty and Husk run along home and Vox is to never lay his hands on Charlie, in which Vox accepts. Velvette goes to 666 news studio along with Valentino as Vox shows everyone he managed to capture Alastor, and Vox tells her to ready the cameras and later is on a parade float as he waves with Velvette too as Vox gloats about his Victory over Alastor. Velvette was brought to Carmilla Carmines office as Vox had talked to Carmilla in order to gain her help with her efforts and was on her phone as she rolled over her eyes and while Carmilla didn't want to assist him or his crew, Velvette was forced by Vox to apologize to Carmilla Carmine for her outburst at the previous meeting as he claimed she didn't mean the rude things she said, she grudgingly said she was sorry as she claimed that she spoke out of turn and hoped Carmilla would forgive her as she gave a strained smile, and as Vox claimed she was sorry he managed to convince Carmilla to help him. Velvette later got off the Industrial with Vox by an Elevator as she called him out for making her look weak and immature and throwing her under the bus by making her give a fake apology to Carmilla, but Vox says they have Carmilla on their side now even after she screwed up on the one Overlord meeting he let her go on, and said she needed to reflect on that as he telports away, as Velvette was furious at him. Velvette later was later in a chair as she interrupted Vox and Valentino when they were getting sexual enticed when Vox asked to borrow Angel, stating that she didn't know about this part or when Vox only makes time for them when he needs something. Velvette was present with Valentino during Vox’s speech and presentation of his new angelic weapon, the Might of Lilith. Velvette applauded it's unveiling as Valentino disliked the design. She along with the other Vees were shocked after the weapon destroyed the barrier surrounding Heaven, and blasting the Pearly Gates off. Velvette later called Vox over on screen about how when the Might of Lilith asked heaven it tore the gates off, but as Vox wanted to show off the weapons power Velvette says he could've warned him since she could have had 20 versions of "#Pearlygate" trending Pentagram-wide if he'd given more than ten seconds of lead time, and tells him they still need more people's support to take on Heaven. But Vox tells her not to worry as he wanted her focus on is getting a party planned for tomorrow for their takeover, to have all the overlords there to witness his moment of triumph, which Velvette corrected him as to it being their moment which Vox agrees and tells her to make sure Valentino comes as he Velvette tells him Valentino is still passed at him but Vox doesn't care and Tell's her he expects him to be there early and wearing something nice, so they have a united front against Heaven, which Velvette agrees to as she ends the call. Velvette was seen present with the other Overlords and guests at Vox’s party. But she later walked away with Valentino after Vox made Charlie sit next to them. She later intervened with Baxter and Niffty’s attempt to contact Sir Pentious, having gotten tipped off about it from Shok.Wav. She got into a fight with Niffty, initially fighting her off with a broom. They got into intense hand-to-hand combat, while Baxter continued to try to connect to Heaven. After Niffty cut off her ponytail, Velvette began using emojis to attack the former, until Baxter managed to hack her phone, burning off her hair in an explosion. Velvette was then kicked out a window by Niffty, and broke into pieces after hitting the ground. Once she put herself back together, Velvette cut Valentino down from the wires he was tied up in, and began becoming worried about Vox due to him destroying Pentagram City with the Might of Lilith. After Vox declared he was gonna blow them all up to smite Alastor, Velvette became fed up with Vox's megalomania, and dropkicked him off his doomsday weapon, teaming up with Valentino to stop his self-destruction. After Valentino ripped off Vox’s head, he grabbed Velvette and Vox and tried to fly away, but his wing was damaged. Velvette reluctantly pulled Valentino into helping contain the blast. After things were over, Velvette joined the other Vees into going back into V Tower, still annoyed and upset with Vox for before, but also agreeing to keep him around.
