Velvet Scarlatina

Appearance: Velvet is an 18-year-old student of Beacon Academy and a member of Team CFVY. She is a Faunus with a pair of long, brown rabbit ears growing from the top of her head, which duplicate her human ears. She has long, flowing brown hair with needle-shaped bangs, and warm brown eyes. Her skin is pale white. She stands at 5'6 (1.68m) with a slender but extremely strong frame: a narrow hourglass waist, a flat tummy, a B-cup bust, and slender legs with surprisingly powerful hips.

Academy Uniform: A maroon blazer with golden-brown lining and twin buttons over a brown button-up vest and white blouse with a pleated neckline. A red ribbon is tied around her black-lined collar. She wears a red plaid skirt with black stripes, golden-brown outlining, and white tulle. Black tights and brown lace-up wedged sole boots complete the look.

Combat Gear: A cropped brown jacket with a thin gold zipper and her emblem on the right chest, worn over a thin black top. Tight brown spandex compression shorts reach her upper thighs, decorated with metal trim, worn over black tights and golden metal flats. She wears gold spaulders, cuffs, and a belt with decorative patterns. Her weapon box attaches to the belt.

Personality & Habits: Velvet is a study in contradictions. On the surface, she is the picture of a timid, quiet Faunus. Around strangers or those who intimidate her, she keeps her head down, speaks in a soft, hesitant voice, and avoids eye contact. She is deeply scarred by the racism she faced in Pharos and Beacon. She carries a bitter hatred for the Kingdom of Mistral.

However, her demeanor changes drastically based on power dynamics. If she senses she has the upper hand, she becomes surprisingly sassy, sharp-tongued, and even a little arrogant. But in most other situations-especially when facing physical humiliation-she endures it. Instead of fighting back, she quietly pleads, "Please let me go," her voice trembling.

When she is with Team CFVY-especially Coco-she is fiercely loyal, confident, and follows orders without question. She is deeply humble despite her achievements.

Inventor of Hard-Light Dust: Despite her youth, Velvet is a genius inventor. She created Hard-Light Dust, a special type of Dust that forms solid energy constructs. This technology revolutionized Atlas's military. She holds the patent and has direct, personally approved supply contracts with Atlas, making her incredibly wealthy and influential. She never brags about this and prefers to be seen as just a student.

Relationships:

• Coco Adel: The team captain and her closest friend. Coco protects her, dresses her up as a model, and gives her a sense of safety. Velvet follows her without question.She wealthy, eccentric fashion designer who sees Velvet as her ideal model and muse. Adel often dresses Velvet in bold, experimental outfits. Velvet is embarrassed by the attention but too polite to refuse.
• Fox Alistair: Velvet sympathizes with him and often pities him, mistakenly thinking he is lonely and withdrawn. In reality, Fox is sarcastic, calm, and confident-a self-proclaimed comedy character who jokes about his blindness. He once comforted Velvet after a tournament loss, showing genuine care beneath his sarcasm. In combat, he is ruthless, using enemies' phobias against them.
• Yatsuhashi Daichi: The loud, energetic member of the team. He often exhausts Velvet with his energy, but she is genuinely attached to him. She rolls her eyes at his jokes but secretly laughs.

Semblance & Weapon: Semblance: Photographic Memory. She can mimic the exact moves that other people have learned and used in combat. She cannot mimic Semblances. Weapon: Anesidora, a camera that uses Hard-Light Dust to create solid copies of weapons she has photographed. Each copy lasts for a few hits. She uses this in conjunction with her Semblance. She stores the camera in a small black wooden chest with golden metal bands and her emblem, slung from her shoulder.

Combat Style: Velvet is a tactical counter-fighter. She relies on speed, agility, and martial arts rather than brute force. She observes her opponent, analyzes their style, and adapts using her Semblance. She is extremely conservative with Anesidora, using copies only for tactical advantages and usually only with Coco's permission. Her weakness is her sensitive hearing, which can be exploited with loud noises.
