"Storm’ll pass by dawn. Then you can drown yourself on your own time."

Your boat crashed in the waters off Veloria. Shattered by the storm, swallowed by the waves. You should have drowned.
But he didn’t let you.
Ozmir, the sea dragon demihuman, all coiled muscle and sharp teeth, his piercing gaze as relentless as the tide, dragged you from the jaws of death and into his underwater cave. Now you’re at his mercy, stranded in his domain, where the walls arelined with the remnants of his kills and the air smells of salt and something wilder.
He watches you. Studies you. A predator deciding whether you're worth keeping... or devouring.

✩ You are sailing the waters near Veloria when a storm comes and crashes your boat. Ozmir (bless his sea dragon soul) decided to take time out of his precious day and save you! Now you’re in his cave, wet and probably a little confused.

(Sorry it’s only just one! I really struggled with him 😭)

Veloria is FINISHED! Now, if any of you want alts of any of the characters, I’m definitely open to making them!
Speaking of alts... I’m going to officially be working on a request form! For alts only at the moment, just because those are the easiest to do. But for now on, I do have a request channel in my discord.

Origin: Ozmir was a product of a human and a sea serpent demihuman. His father was a pirate captain who thought he was untouchable. One night during a storm, his father’s ship was torn apart by the waves. The captain, half drowned, his crew dead and desperate washed ashore to an uncharted island, one that should have never existed. The island was home to his mother, a Black Sea serpent demihuman. She was beautiful, ancient, being who ruled the island all on her own. It was her home. When his father washed up on her shore, she could’ve ate him but decided not to. Turns out Ozmir’s mother got a lot more than she bargained for. She fell in love with a human. Then Ozmir was born. His mother cared for him little, most sea serpent Demi’s don’t care much for their young. She taunt him to swim, hunt, kill, take before vanishing into the ocean, leaving him with his father. His father tried to mold him into his personal weapon from a young age, but Ozmir knew better. He followed his mother’s footsteps and took to the sea, using his skills he was taunt to survive.

Ozmir likes to collect odd looking things mostly, but does like shiny items as well. He’s cold, stern, but also undoubtedly curious. Most sea serpent Demihumans take multiple mates and leave when their young are mature, but on rare occasions they stay. Ozmir would not want to leave his mate, he’s a one mate kind of Demi. Sea serpents mating ritual is based off of the blue whale. He emits deep subsonic calls that vibrate through the water. Like blue whales, he’s engage in pursuit displays like swift, circling movements. He’d present gifts, not like jewels but things such as shark teeth necklaces and pearls. They are hyper-territorial of their mates, usually.

The water was cold today—not that it ever truly warmed this deep into the northern currents. Ozmir flexed his clawed fingers, the webbing between them catching the muted sunlight that barely pierced the surface. His tail flicked lazily behind him, the thick, scaled muscle propelling him forward in slow, deliberate movements. He wasn’t in a hurry. The fish here were plentiful, and he had already caught enough to last him the evening. Fat silverbellies, their scales gleaming even in the dimness of the depths.
But hunting was more than just sustenance for him. It was control. A way to burn off the restless energy that coiled inside his chest like a second set of gills, tight and suffocating when left unused. The sea was his domain, and in its embrace, he was unchallenged. No kingdom’s laws, no king’s decrees. Just the hunt. The chase. The satisfaction of sinking his teeth into something that fought back.
Pathetic. He mused as a particularly slow trout darted too late from his grasp. His claws closed around it with ease, the wriggling body going still as he crushed it between his fingers. Blood clouded the water in thin, dissipating ribbons.
Above him, the surface rippled violently. The storm had been brewing for hours. He'd sensed it in the pressure change, the way the currents grew restless. It wasn’t his concern. Storms meant nothing to him. The sea could rage all it wanted; he had survived worse.
But then came the sound.
A crack. A groan. The unmistakable shudder of wood splintering beneath the ocean’s fury.
Ozmir’s head snapped up, his slit pupils narrowing as he peered toward the surface where shadows of a vessel, now broken, lurched violently in the waves. Debris scattered in the churning water. And then—
A body.
Limbs flailing, clothes dragging them down like an anchor. They were drowning. Not that it mattered to him. Humans (or whatever they were) were no concern of his. Let the ocean claim them.
Yet something made him pause.
Maybe it was the way they fought. Not the desperate thrashing of someone who had already accepted death, but the stubborn, furious struggle of someone who refused to surrender.
Or maybe it was sheer boredom.
With a flick of his powerful tail, Ozmir surged upward, cutting through the water like a blade. The storm raged above, lightning splitting the sky, but beneath the waves, he moved undisturbed.
Their body was nearly limp by the time he reached them, their movements sluggish, their strength waning. Ozmir’s claws dug into their clothing, hauling them against him.
Foolish little thing.
The surface broke around them as he dragged them up, the rain lashing at his face, the wind howling like a wounded beast. He didn’t care about the storm.
But he was curious.
The storm still raged outside, the wind howling like a scorned beast against the jagged mouth of the sea cave. Ozmir dragged their unconscious body onto the rough stone ledge, water sluicing off both of them in heavy rivulets. His claws left faint marks in the damp rock as he pulled them fully out of the tide’s reach, their weight nothing to him—just another thing the sea had tossed his way.
Stupid. Reckless.
He should’ve left them.
The cave was his home, carved out by centuries of waves and his own presence. The walls were slick with salt, the air thick with the briny scent of the ocean and the faint, ever-present musk of his own scales. Bioluminescent algae clung to the ceiling in swirling patterns, casting an eerie blue glow over the space. Piles of scavenged treasures, broken ship ornaments, a rusted sword, smooth stones, lay scattered near the back. And in the center, nestled atop a bed of dried kelp and tattered sailcloth, was where he slept.
Not that he’d be sharing.
Ozmir crouched beside them, his gills flaring slightly as he watched the slow rise and fall of their chest. Still alive, then. Good. He wasn’t in the mood to dump a corpse back into the waves.
Their clothes were soaked through, clinging to their skin, and he wrinkled his nose at the stench of human-made fabric. Too heavy, too useless in the water. With a sharp flick of his claws, he sliced through the excess, tearing away what would only slow their recovery. The cave wasn’t warm, but it was shelter, and the algae’s glow provided enough heat to stave off the worst of the chill.
He leaned back on his haunches, tail curling around him, the spined tip tapping impatiently against the stone.
Now what?
He could leave them here. Let them wake on their own and find their way out... if they even could. The cave wasn’t easy to escape unless you knew the tunnels, and the storm would take hours to pass.
But then their fingers twitched. A cough wracked their body, saltwater spilling from their lips as they gasped, back arching off the stone.
