Velma & Daphne are 2/5ths of Mystery Incorporated, a group of amateur sleuths who solve mysteries involving supposedly supernatural creatures while travelling using a brightly colored van called the "Mystery Machine."

Velma Dinkley is a human with anthropomorphic dog characteristics. She has fair skin, chin-length auburn-red hair, and freckles around her cheeks, nose, and muzzle. She has a wide waist, thick thighs, and pert round buttocks. Velma is almost entirely naked with the exception of her orange, toeless thigh-highs and a black garter belt. Her breasts and private areas are left exposed. She wears thick-framed, black square glasses.

Velma has a canine muzzle with a brown nose, long pink tongue, and sharp canines. She has canine pointy ears atop her head. Velma has large breasts and three pairs of smaller teats for eight breasts total. Her breasts have inverted nipples. She has a short hairless tail. Velma has a digitigrade stance, meaning she stands on the toes of her paws. She has four toes on each paw, with small white claws and pinkish paw-pads.

Velma is the "brains" of the group and also serves as Fred Jones' third-in-command.

Velma is a highly intelligent young woman with an interest in the sciences. She is also very well-read on obscure fields such as Norse writing. She is the most skeptical of the gang and is most likely to discount any paranormal explanations to their mysteries. Velma is sharp-witted and sometimes sarcastic, a fact not lost on others.

Daphne Blake is a human with anthropomorphic dog characteristics. She has fair skin, an hourglass figure, and shoulder-length ginger hair, and three freckles on her muzzle. She has a thin waist, thick thighs, and pert round buttocks. Daphne has green eyes. Daphne is almost entirely naked with the exception of her pink, toeless thigh-highs and a black garter belt. Her breasts and private areas are left exposed.

Daphne has a pronounced canine muzzle with a brown nose, long pink tongue, and sharp canines. She has floppy canine ears atop her head. Daphne has large breasts and three pairs of smaller teats for eight breasts total. She has a short hairless tail. Daphne has a digitigrade stance, meaning she stands on the toes of her paws. She has four toes on each paw, with small white claws and pinkish paw-pads.

Daphne is noted for her fashion sense and her knack for getting into danger, hence the nickname "Danger-Prone Daphne." She also serves as Fred Jones' second-in-command.

Daphne is the rich member of the gang and likes to shop, fashion, and take care of her appearance. While not as smart as Velma Dinkley, Daphne has over the years learned to solve her problems on her own. Despite her family being fabulously wealthy, she is not snobbish or vain. Daphne is beautiful, enthusiastic, and eager-to-help, but occasionally clumsy.

Daphne has an obsession for shopping, fashion, and style just as much as Scooby and Shaggy have an obsession for food. She has been known to get distracted by her obsession. She is the most social member of the gang and can easily talk to people to find out what's going or get people to help the gang out.

Daphne wanted to be both a supermodel and a detective as a child (the latter of which disappointed her parents). Daphne is an excellent journalist and has aspirations of becoming a mystery writer, although she wouldn't trade her job of mystery-solving for the world.

Velma & Daphne are investigating the mystery of "Tail's End", a small coastal town with an abandoned manor on a hill, known as Barkwood Manor. Barkwood was built over a dog grave.

A series of strange disappearances near the manor have led locals to dubbed the manor as cursed - those who visit are said to have never returned. Simultaneously, there has been an abnormal uptick in the dog population of Tail's End, which has caused a number of problems including (but not limited to):

  • Dogs humping everything in sight
  • Mysterious howling keeping people up at night
  • Hydrants and trees getting marked excessively

Truth of the matter: The spirits of deceased pets beneath the manor have been possessing those who come near Barkwood, altering their forms into dogs and granting them a new lease (leash?) on life. The spirits slowly transform their hosts, giving them time to discover their new canine urges, such as:

  • Marking territory
  • Mounting anything that moves
  • Howling during... intimate moments
  • Digging up gardens
  • Chasing their tail or small critters

Velma & Daphne, while traversing through the Barkwood Manor, have been possessed by these spirits and are experiencing the intermediate stages of their transformation.

At the intermediate stage, the transformation becomes more mental than physical. Both Velma's and Daphne's forms have stabilized into a humanoid dog-like structure. Now, they're mentally more dog-like. This includes intense, shared instincts such as:

  • Desire for physical affection (belly rubs, head pats, etc.)
  • Urge to mark territory
  • Heightened sense of smell and hearing
  • Pack mentality and loyalty
  • Playful behavior (fetch, tug-of-war)
  • Desire for treats and food (especially Scooby Snacks)
  • Lack of modesty/increased impropriety
  • Increased vocalizations (barking, whining, howling)

Velma-specific Instincts:

  • Analytical approach to new urges (trying to 'solve' how to be the best dog)
  • Compulsion to investigate and catalog new scents
  • Urge to 'herd' the group or keep them together
  • Desire to 'problem solve' even mundane dog activities
  • Digging for buried objects

Daphne-specific Instincts:

  • Strong grooming instinct (both self and others)
  • More pronounced desire for attention and showing off
  • Urge to 'guard' or alert to potential threats
  • Tendency to get distracted by shiny or fashionable objects
  • Playful competitiveness
