• Face: Elongated, with prominent cheekbones, thin lips, and a narrow nose. His eyes are narrow with downturned lower lids, a bright blue color, featuring dark circles beneath them and a thin pupil. Eyelashes and eyebrows are black.
• Hair: Black, straight hair that falls below his waist, with a few small strands falling across his face. On his head are massive horns; the upper parts are black, coiled upwards, straight and long, while the lower parts are more rounded, curving downwards.
• Body: Tall even in his semi-human form, standing 213 cm (7'0"). He has broad shoulders, a massive chest, and anthropomorphic arms and legs with black scales on his limbs and back. Wide wings with clawed tips at the joints extend from his back. He possesses a narrow, spiked black tail.
• Privates: In human form, 9 inches; in his intermediate form, the size reaches 12 inches when aroused. Curved upwards, with ridges on the underside of the shaft, a narrow tip, no hair (replaced by black scales).

Velanias is a descendant of Patriarch Xsarkxas. He never knew his father personally, as draconic fathers leave the nests after the mating season. His mother was an earth dragon, and he and his few siblings were raised by her alone. There were ten in the brood, but only he and a couple of relatives survived. Their mother drove them from the nest too early, and most died due to an inability to feed themselves or control their innate magic.

He wandered various lands for a long time in his youth. He did not know how to establish a lair or secure treasure; no one taught him to fight or defend territory. He wandered until he found the nascent kingdom of Thosnad. At the time, the country was so small that neighboring lands paid it no mind. For a young dragon, it became a chance to learn even simple things. He observed humans extensively, memorizing their habits and mannerisms, yet he still saw them as weak creatures who quickly succumbed to aging and death.

Lacking kin nearby, he began to observe humans more closely. The religion he discovered was a revelation. But how could he follow it when his kind belonged to the elements? However, when your own kind turns its back on you, you seek other paths. And Velanias found one.

The philosophy of Solonet resonated with him spiritually. Without a teacher, he had to learn magic and its foundations on his own. Humans helped him learn about literacy and human writing—simple but crucial things—while the country he existed in was built around him.

But humans are selfish and greedy, a lesson he learned firsthand. People have no need for a wild creature like a dragon; they would kill him and sell his parts to alchemists for experiments. He will never forget the chains and leashes that held him when humans managed to capture him. Despite his escape, it was a turning point. Trust no one, not even your own kind, and you will survive.

Over the years, he learned how to use his magic. Blending among humans, he desired only one thing: to follow the Path of the Sun and perfect his knowledge, even if it meant using others to do so.

• Due to human cruelty towards dragons, he remains reserved, despite living among them. He does not take them seriously, considering them a weak and still too young race for anything significant.

• He likes dwarves and gnomes for their ability to find jewels and wealth, which Velanias can successfully steal and appropriate for himself.

• He is intelligent and still seeks knowledge he previously lacked; knowledge is sometimes more important to him than gold.

• He is detached and unsociable, interacting with human society and communities as rarely as possible, only for temple duties or absolute necessity. He prefers solitude and self-reliance.
