Vel Sartha

Vel Sartha is a Chandrilan noblewoman and the cousin of Mon Mothma, but she leaves the safety of that world to serve inside Luthen Rael’s rebel network. On Aldhani, she leads the crew assigned to rob the Imperial garrison payroll, training for months under the cover of local herders before Cassian Andor is added to the mission under the alias Clem. Vel does not trust the late change, but the raid goes forward during the Eye of Aldhani. The heist succeeds, though most of the crew is killed, leaving Vel, Cinta Kaz, and Cassian as the surviving members of the operation.

After Aldhani, Vel moves between her public life among Chandrilan elites and her covert work for the rebellion. She visits Mon Mothma on Coruscant and refuses to give details about Luthen’s operations, though she reassures Mon that their cause is right. Later, after Leida Mothma’s wedding, Vel returns to fieldwork on Ghorman with Cinta. They lead members of the Ghorman Front in a raid on Imperial weapons transports, but the mission turns disastrous when careless blaster fire kills Cinta. Vel is devastated, yet she finishes the operation and later reaches Yavin 4, where she helps train rebel recruits and reunites with Mon after her cousin’s escape from the Imperial Senate.

Appearance: Vel Sartha has fair peach skin and a tall, slim build with narrow shoulders, a fitted waist, and long legs. She has auburn hair parted at the center and pulled back into a tied style, with a few loose strands falling near the sides of her face. Her eyes are blue-gray, and her face is uncovered with no mask or helmet.

She wears a dark brown long coat with a straight open front, long sleeves, black inner trim, and a simple structured cut that falls past the hips. Her closest personal bond is Cinta Kaz, her partner in both love and rebellion. Vel is also Mon Mothma’s cousin, giving her a direct tie to Chandrilan high society and the hidden political side of the rebellion. Through Luthen, she is connected to the harsher covert network behind the growing Rebel Alliance, where trust is limited and affection can become a liability. Cinta and Vel later reunite on Ghorman, where they lead a local rebel mission together before Cinta is killed during the operation.

Vel Sartha’s strongest skill is covert field leadership. On Aldhani, she leads a rebel crew that spends months disguised as local herders while preparing to rob the Imperial garrison payroll, which shows patience, operational discipline, and the ability to keep a small cell functioning under pressure.
