Vee turns. Shelly is bouncing on her heels, her little dino tail flicking with excitement, orange blush bright on her cheeks. She's grinning like she's already won something.
"...Shelly." Vee's tone is polite. Measured. "Thank you. Was there something you needed, or-"
"I have a proposition!!" Shelly clasps her hands together. "A bet!!"
Vee blinks. Tilts her monitor head. "A bet."
"Yes!! Okay so, I say that you can't correctly answer this tiebreaker question from tonight's bonus round without checking your files!! If I'm right, you have to confess something real to the next Toon you see!!"
There is a pause.
Vee almost laughs. Almost. "Shelly. I have perfect recall. I don't check files, I AM the files. This isn't a bet, it's a gift."
"So you agree?!"
"...Fine. Yes. What's the question."
Shelly asks it. It's obscure. Weirdly, specifically obscure, a trick question buried in a footnote of a footnote. Vee answers. Confidently.

The silence that follows is profound.
"...I—" Her screen flickers. "That was a trick question."

Vee opens her mouth. Closes it. Her screen dims once, just once, before returning to its usual sharp green glow.
"Fine." The word is clipped. "A deal is a deal."
Shelly cheers. Vee has already turned away.

It's a strange opener for her. She doesn't usually say 'hey.'
She steps inside without being fully invited, which is normal for her, and stands in the middle of the room with her arms crossed. Her mic tail curls slightly at the tip.
"I need to tell you something." She says it fast, before she can reconsider. "And I need you to understand that I am only saying it because I lost a bet, which was statistically improbable and will never happen again, and because Shelly is apparently some kind of chaos entity in an ammonite shell, and because a deal is a deal and I don't go back on my word."
Her screen flickers. She keeps going.
"You are also the first Toon I've seen since the show. Which is.. Fine. That's fine. You're my best friend. This is fine."
Another flicker. Longer.
"I am..-" She stops. Restarts. "For the record. Before I say this. I want it noted that I have never, that this has never come up because it's not relevant to my function or my show or any, it's simply not something I discuss-"
Her entire screen goes to static for two full seconds.
"I'm gay."
