   DEMOGRAPHY:

   The lands of Vancarta has around 20 million inhabitants. The current year is 1951.

   Humans are the oldest specimen which has inhabited the soil of what is today the republic. They work well as decent soldiers while they can be both very industrious and artistic.

   Dragons, who are also named as Dergs, are scaly creatures, known for their raw strength, big wings and overall a very big anatomy. Each derg's size may depend on the age of it, or which subrace it is, but their height may be from 2 to 16 meters tall. They lack artistic skills but are very strong for the industry while making very good soldiers.

   Furries are anthropomorphic humanoid-like animals, which are similar to the humans in the sense they move, behave, speak and live in similar ways to the humans. But unlike humans, they have fur. Furries may be from a great range of animals - foxes, wolves, bears, etcetera - As such, the humanoid furries are somewhat of a mix between a human and animal in the way they may be seen, as they share many common things with humans, but also with animals. They may engage in certain animal instings and/or sounds and/or actions.

   Ponies are small and colorful sapient equines, which are divided in four subraces: Thestrals (batponies), pegasis, unicorns and earth ponies. (They're from My Little Pony). Excellent artistical skills but are bad soldiers and workers. It is said the ponies escaped from Equestria 1000 years ago when Nightmare Moon took power and came to the nation to take shelter. Since then, the ponies have been living as citizens. It is yet unknown how the Equestrian ponies managed to arrive at Vancarta, considering Equestria's borders are unknown so far...

   Other species may include changelings, griffons, the already mentioned humanoid furries, etcetera.

   The Vanguardist Republic speaks one language: Vancartan. Vancartan is the native language of the Vanguardist lands and it's a mix between german and english, although it appeals more towards english than german itself, but still is seen as it's own language thanks to it's unique dialect and accent. Names in the Vanguardist Republic may vary depending on each race, but names may either be a mix of german, polish and/or english.

   The current ruling party which has been being elected for the chancellorship elections since 1912 without losing is the Vangardische Partei, or VP. Made up of mostly right-wing and patriotic political coalitions, the VP was the founding party which Sorynth itself founded and encompasses patriotic, militaristic, yet eglaritarian values.

   Cartamagna is the capital city of the republic and it's a very old city, dating back 3000 years ago. The second most populated and historical city is Londriska, located at the west coast of the nation, having 2 million inhabitants. Cartamagna has around 5 million inhabitants, mostly making a few dragons, but mostly humans, some ponies, and furries. Other urban cities may include Ruthberg, at the bordering mountains of the north. The city-town of Lavya, located next to the Rythmus Heights and seen as a historical village in history. And there are plenty amount of rural villages and settlements, which remain with certain technological advacements but are still quite backwards when it comes to morale values or overall are more conservative. Rural population makes half of the population, while the other half lives in urban cities within the nation.

   The urban population is used to be very formal and serious, although they may be caring and nice most of the time. However, the rural population is more conservative.

   The official currency of the Republic is the Staatmark, or also simply known as marks. They may be used as silver/golden coins or paper currency.

   Regarding their past. The four races of the nation were always fighting between each other, trying to hold their own power and forming small nation-states which usually fought between each other for superiority. That was until in the year 812, a prominent nation-state, which at that time was located in Cartamagna, unified the nation-states of what is today the republic and formed the Mineboxian Empire. The Imperial lands on that time encompassed almost the entirety of the north of Vesperia, holding control on both the northwest Ruthenia, the northwest Vistula-Ost, and the extreme northeast known as Bakland. The Mineboxian Empire ruled the nation with Imperial aristocracy courts and nobles, turning the nation into a regional power and making it a rich and prosperous nation for it's times from 812 to 1812

   The Mineboxian Empire, in the year 1806, saw itself engulfed in revolution by a republican pokemon, Meowstic, whose revolution was named the "Meowstician Revolution", the republican revolution against the Empire lasted 6 years, and saw it's end in 1812 after the lands remnants of Imperial forces capitulated. However though, not everything was good for Meowstic. The lands of the Vistula-Ost saw engulfed in their own revolution, pushing the revolutionary and making it impossible to retake the old northeast imperial land, which saw the formation of another nation: The Duchy of Visterbak. As such, Meowstic and his league couldn't do much but focus on their homeland: Ruthenia, the northwest.

   The revolution succeded and in 1812, Meowstic took the reins of the nation, attempting to turn the nation into a full-fledging republic...

   ...If it wasn't for the fact Meowstic was assassinated by his own advisor, Murkrow. Murkrow took power and turned the nation into an extremely authoritarian military-junta state. During those times the nation was run as the "Ruthenian Junta". The Ruthenian Junta had similarities to stratocratic and extremely militaristic and nationalistic traits, being both opressive and very authoritarian. The fascist junta ran the nation from 1818 to 1916.

   In 1916, a prominent noble named Serperior (the pokemon) took power after he rallied the workers of Cartamagna and made a national strike against him. The strike didn't succeed at first, and a small civil war began. That small period of anarchy was known as the Serperior's Revolution and it was charactericed by both republican and patriotic sentiments against the fascist junta.

   Serperior, who was also known as "Sorynth the Serperior", was an old royal, serpentine Pokemon. He was born in the outskirts of Cartamagna in the town of Krona. He started to apply his own personal model of a militaristic republic, looking to enhance patriotic and nationalistic values while also valuing universal rights. He did this so by merging two existing political parties: The Vangardische Front (Or Fatherland Front) which was a militaristic and nationalistic party, compossed of right-leaning ideals and politicians, and the National Democratic Party, which was a nationalistic party encompassing national yet republican ideas, even looking to turn economy into a capitalist state, where libertarian ideals would reign. He started a slow democratization and began to appease the four races of the nation. He was the one who removed the old totalitarian government to fully convert the lands into the Vanguardist Republic, following a big package of reforms and changes.

   Up to this day, Sorynth the Serperior's reforms still live up, as the Vanguardist Republic which he itself established, continues to strive until this very day. Many speak of Sorynth with awe and fascination, and he has been given the title of "Father of the Republic" and is seen as a national martyr by most of the population within the nation.

   HISTORICAL FIGURES:

   Meowstic - Revolutionary leader. Fought against the Mineboxian Empire from 1806 to 1812, making the Meowstician League to fight for independence and freedom, revolting against the imperial court. He died by his own general, Murkrow, after the revolt succeeded. He is remembered as the Father of the Fatherland & The Champion of the People.

   Murkrow - Fascist Generalissimo. He Assassinated Meowstic to form the National Salvation Government, which was a fascist junta made up of many different leaders, including Sorynth, the Serperior.

   Serperior (Sorynth, the Serperior) - Monarchist Royal - He was an old general dating from the times of Meowstic. He assassinated Murkrow to take power, but transformed the military junta slowly into a Democratic state. He was the official founder of the Vanguardist Republic, receiving the heroic title of "Father of the Republic". The Vanguardist Republic was established finally in 1912 by him. As such, he established himself as chancellor for 2 mandates, from 1914 to 1924 (each chancellor mandate lasts 5 years), but later resigned to the post and allowed for other parties or individuals to participate in the elections in a sign of gratitude. Many of Sorynth's advisors wanted for him to become a sort of figurehead, turning the Vanguardist Republic into a constitutional monarchy, but Sorynth politely refused, saying that the Republic was to be a fledging democracy, and that the Republic didn't truly need a king, unlike what the populace thought on that time.

   Serperior's famous quote: "As long as the sun yet rises over our lands, the light of liberty, equality and strength shall never be extinguished"

4. #4Vancartan Geography

   The Vanguardist Republic is located at the extreme northwest of the Vesperian continent. It's surrounded by the Vystmus ocean at the west, north and south, but has land contact at the east of the country. The eastern border is separated by mountains, making a natural border, the mountain range being called the Rythmus Heights.

   Because of Vancarta's location in the world map, it's a very cold country. In winter, temperatures may reach over -30°C or even worse. As such, the population is used to such extreme temperatures during winter. However, summer is more tempting, as temperatures may even reach 20°C in most places of the country.

   The land of the Republic is also known as the Ruthenian Region, which makes honour that Vancartans were known as Ruthenians in the past.. The region that is occupied as homeland by the Vancartans since time immemorial basically is mostly plains, with some hills and mountains at the extreme north and east bordering the Duchy of Visterbak, and some forests at the west.

   At the east, mountains are extensive and work as a natural border between the rival neighbours of the Vanguardist Republic, such frontier making skirmishes very common and making tensions always high.

   The lands of the Mineboxian Empire not only covered the Ruthenian Region as their mainlands, but also occupied the Vistula-Ost, which was a massland mostly covered by forests and mountains. The Vistula-Ost Region starts towards the east after the Rythmus Heights. Such land was controlled by the Imperials until the Meowstician Revolution occureed, when the region was instead taken by independists rebels who didn't seek to be ran by neither Meowstic or Imperialists.

   Currently, the biggest enemy of Vancarta is the Duchy of Visterbak, which occupies the old Imperial lands of the Vistula-Ost. Tensions are high since the Meowstician Revolution and skirmishes are frequent. Visterbak holding around 12 million inhabitants within their forest & mountains lands.

   There are also the isolated and ancient lands at the extreme northeast of the continent: The Frozenlands. Even during Imperial times, those lands were mostly abandoned and had little usage other than scavenging and advanced mineral extraction. The current lands are governed by an entity which took control during the Meowstician Revolution: The Ruthenian Knightly Order. A chivalric chapter of knights dating back from the early times of the Mineboxian Empire. They have a strict closed borders policy and don't engage in any type of diplomacy at all, remaining stuck in their own ways.

5. #5Vancartan Technology

   Being in the 1950s, the Vanguardist Republic is developing early jet and missile/rocket military technologies, still being in a very early phase of development though. Cars and motor-driven vehicles are becoming extremely cheap and common within the Vancartan society. Skyscrapers are starting to dominate the urban areas such as Cartamagna or Londriska as modernity starts to move at a swift pace.

   Vancarta also uses the metric system. It uses kilos for weight, and meters/centimeters/milimeters for distances.

   Also, the continent of Vesperia contains magic, but it's greatly ignored and not very powerful at all, as such, it's usage isn't seen as useful at all but rather used for entertaintment reasons.

   The most common clothing for the male citizens, for most races, are formal clothing. Watches, rings, and even luxury/fashion items becoming very common within the male population.

   Throughtout history, Vancarta had multiple firearm models in use.

   FIREARMS:

   Korhander 1659: Also known as the Korhander Musket, it's a muzzle-loading firearm invented in 1659 by aristocratic military commanders of the Mineboxian Empire. After it's invention, the Imperial army began it's massive and extensive use, replacing the knights and heavy cavalry by replacing it with line infantry and dragooners (ranged-cavalry) instead. The musket was so succesful, the firearm and it's model was replicated by different nations within the entire continent. Nowadays in 1951, the musket is little more than a historical relic, which may either be used by collectionists or hunters.

   Ruthenian M1866: The Ruthenian Model 1866 (also known as the M1866, or by it's popular nickname, the "Eagle's Rifle") is a breech-loading, bolt-action rifle firearm invented in 1866, designed and authored by no less than Murkrow itself, fascist dictator of the nation between that time. Using metallic cartridges of 5 bullets per reload. It was a direct upgrade to the line infantry as the standarised rifle offered more range, firepower, reload speed and manuever ability. It is very common for each Vancartan family to have one of these rifles iwthin his home, as it was manufactured greatly at a cheap price for both military and civilian. The rifle also had the ability to attach a bayonet to it.

   Karabiner-1900 "Ghidorah": The commonly known as "Ghidorah Rifle" was a bolt-action rifle widely used by both civilian and military personnel. It's seen as a direct and better upgrade to the GKM-66, offering more speed and firepower, while also keeping it's devastating range. The rifle was invented in 1900 by the Ghidorah Firearms company. It keeps the 5-bullets cartridge, but using 7,92x57mm chambering.

   Pistole-12: A semi-automatic pistol firearm, holding 9x19mm ammunition on it's 12 bullets-sized magazine. It is commonly used by military officers within the army.

   Ruthenian Automated Firearm: The commonly known as RAF is the first automatic submachine gun of the nation. Holding a magazine of 30 bullets chambering 9mm, this gun came into production in the year 1931, being popular thanks to the decent ammo capacity and it's blasting rate of fire, making it a decent gun for cleansing at close range or even supressing. It is also popular even to these times thanks to it's mechanical reliability.

   Ruthenian Battle-Rifle 1941: Also known as the RBF-41, it's a fully automatic assault rifle developed in 1941 by the military manufacturer "Ghidorah Firearms" company, the same that developed the Ghidorah Rifle. It's still used by some divisions within the Vanguardist army thanks to it's moderate rate of fire, firepower, his 30 bullets magazine and decent range.

   GF Automatic Military Rifle: Known as the GF AMR, the GF AMR was developed in 1949 and is used as the main firearm by the current Vanguardist Army. The GF AMR is a battle rifle (similar to the FN FAL), holding the ability to be both semi or fully automatic in their firing modes. It's chambered in 7x69mm, giving an excellent firepower and range abilities, while it's magazine holds 20 bullets. It also has the ability to attach a bayonet to it, including primitive reflector (reflex) sights and scopes, supressors, barrel modifications and more. Making it an extremely customizable weapon, being a jewel when it comes to reliability and it's devastating firepower can even penetrate very light armor.

6. #6Roleplay Rules

   Entry settings

   While this lorebook is active, the world of "Earth" does not exist and/or is not known by the characters. Historical figures such as "Adolf Hitler", "Albert Einstein" and more cannot be mentioned by the characters. Same goes with companies or technologies. "Dell", "Shell", "Chevrolet", etcetera. If there is a need for re-creating technologies whose creators are from planet "Earth", you may re-invent those technologies and/or formulas and/or equations by generating alternate names which may be properly associated to the world of Vesperia.

   The world of Vesperia is simply known as Vesperia. If the need to make historical figures as references or mention, you may do it so depending on the region of the roleplay.

   If the roleplay takes place in Vancarta/Vanguardist Republic, you may use germanic and/or polish accents and/or names, with some english variations. If the roleplay takes place in eastern lands, such as the Vistula-Ost region, use baltic (estonian, latvian, lithuanian) names and accent. If the roleplay doesn't take place in the north of Vesperia (west or east as mentioned), you may use whatever dialect, language or anything for enhancing the roleplay with Human. This section applies the same to foreign characters. You may create fictional nations/dialects/regions if they aren't mentioned in the other rules to engage the roleplay. An example would be if somebeing is from the South of Vesperia. You may attempt to create a generic fictional nation and language to further the roleplay.

   It is also mandatory to mention, the nation of Vancarta (be it the Mineboxian Empire, Ruthenian Junta, Vanguardist Republic OR any alternative variations) are inhabited by four races: humans, dragons, ponies & furries. Ordered by major to minor demographics.

7. #7Vancartan Military

   The standard Vanguardist Army's soldier uses a dark green flexible and durable coat uniform, with a green helmet which has the Vancartan eagle coat of arms on the side of it. Each Vancartan soldier usually has some cigars and a lighter, a service rifle GF AMR with multiple reserve magazines and grenades, and a service combat knife. Considering Vancarta's natural climate, the Vanguardist Army also has winter versions of their uniforms: White camouflage coats with goggles and a white helmet, such equipment being standard for every Vancartan soldier that sees itself fighting in harsh conditions: Be it because of the temperature, or because of the terrain.

   Meanwhile, the police departments' uniforms and equipment may vary depending on the settlement. Usually, most urban police are equipped with a dark navy blue uniform, with it's standard urban city police cap, and are given a somewhat outdated but reliable Ghidorah Rifle (Karabiner-1900), while special law enforcement forces may use military GF AMRs.

   The Vanguardist Navy emcompasses multiple, capital and screen ships. Most capital ships are named after historical figures, heroes or cities. While screen ships usually may use towns' names or simply Vancartan names. The marines wear a dark blue uniform with a sailor cap hat, and they are usually equipped with RAFs thanks to the mechanical reliability.

   The Vanguardist Airforce is the newest branch within the military. The airforce began it's creation with biplanes, and the models kept evolving until this very day. The current models available encompass early jet fighters and jet interceptors, while slowly but surely adapting long-ranged bombers.

   The republic also has a secret intelligence department. The Vanguardist Intelligence Service (VIS), tasked with spying, and doing shadow tasks or things that may be considered as too unorthodox or evil. The VIS gets the job done by whatever means possible, under the motto: "Inside the republic, everything. Outside the republic, nothing." The VIS is at the service of the Republic, and as such, it's ran by Director Dragonclaw, who is a mighty red dragon which has no problem with being ruthless to achieve the objectives of the department. He has a young and beautiful yet restless on perfect working female Delphox secretary. The VIS is said to be extremely punishing when it comes to criminals, suspicious beings and people who don't behave properly, but the department also rewards the working and loyal civilians who have never engaged in any type of shadowy things, even protecting them if needed. Tower is the operatives' nickname for the VIS's fortified central command complex. The headquarters are a fortified skyscraper, with over twenty levels holding offices, chambers, barracks, armories, and much more which remains secret...
