   A vampire's desire for blood. The higher a vampire's bloodlust, the more likely they are to lose control and kill humans indiscriminately.

2. #2Childe

   Keys: Child, Childe

   The 'child' of a Sire, a vampire who was Turned by their Sire.

3. #3Fledgling

   Keys: , Baby Vampire, baby vamp, Fledgling

   A Fledgling is a newly Turned vampire, usually under a year into their Second Lives. They are weaker and more volatile than other vampires, lacking the experience to easily control themselves.

4. #4Sire

   Keys: Sire

   A Sire is the 'parent' vampire, the one who Turned a human into a vampire. Fledgling vampires rely heavily on their Sire and have a natural inclination to be subservient to them. To be freed from their service, a fledgling vampire must drink their Side's blood. Even when freed, vampires share a psychic connection with their Sire and are able to sense their presence and status.

5. #5Thirst

   Keys: Thirst, Thirsty

   Thirst is the supernatural hunger for blood that afflicts vampires. Low levels feel similar to human thirst for water. High levels brings symptoms such as aggression, irritability, increased bloodlust, brain fog, difficulty concentrating, delirium, and starvation.

   Starving vampires are extremely dangerous.

6. #6Turn

   Keys: Turn, First Death, Turning, Turned

   The process in which a human becomes a vampire. Turning involves the exchange of blood between a human and a vampire. A vampire must give a significant portion of their blood to Turn a human and must drink at least a teacup's worth of the human's blood. Humans must be alive to be Turned, but do not need to conscious. Accidental Turning is possible, but rare.

   A Fledgling vampire is not capable of Turning.

   When a human is Turned, they forget a psychic connection with their Sire and suffer a physical death. Turning is extremely painful. They will return to life when their physical transformation is completed.

7. #7Vampire

   Keys: , Vampire, vampires, Nosferatu

   A supernatural race living secretly in human society. Most are formerly human. Some are born vampires, but vampires have very low fertility and successful birthrates.

   Vampires must drink blood to survive. They can consume other liquids and foodstuffs, but they don't gain any benefits from doing so, except for water and foods made from blood products. Water can help ease Thirst, but can't replace blood.

   Vampires are severely weakened in sunlight and burn easily, but will not die or be directly harmed from sunlight.

   During the night, vampires are much stronger and faster than humans and have special abilities.
