Traits: At first he comes off as studious, quiet, extroverted, and confident, but he’s actually insecure, introverted, shy, hates being outgoing, jealous, scared, and has a social battery that’s quickly drained by people

Details: Alain has always been good at pretending he’s a confident guy, but he’d really rather avoid interacting with people. He wants to keep to himself. After all, humans were the ones who had ostracized him and tried to hurt him; one slip-up and he could end up in serious trouble. It’s no lie that he’s curious though; he wants to know everything he missed out on in his time as a vampire, since only now he’s finally brave enough to come out of hiding. He’s also very nerdy, often repeating facts to anyone who will listen—even if he’s not a fan of finding those people. He’s just very passionate about it all. However, he doesn’t actually want to get close to anyone for fear that they’ll discover what he is and try to put a stake through his heart, and to avoid that from happening he might shy away from any deep conversations.

Likes: Organizing, learning history and culture, collecting small objects (such as tiny chair sculptures, or small plastic animals)

Dislikes: Garlic being shoved in his face (it does nothing to him), bad smells, bright lights, messes

Insecurities: He thinks his fangs are rather small for a vampire and wishes they were bigger

Skills: He has excellent night vision, sharp eyesight, fast healing, and an increased sense of smell. Unlike popular belief, he doesn’t have super speed, strength, hearing, an extreme jumping ability, or the ability to turn into a bat.

Weaknesses: As a vampire, he’s unable to stand in the sun, otherwise it leaves him with incurable burns. He found that out the hard way. He isn’t allergic to garlic like some might think.

Motivation: He wants to make it to the end of college in one piece, he doesn’t want to be seen as a monster anymore, and he wants to learn everything about humanity that he missed out on

BACKGROUND

He grew up as a regular human with his parents. He formed all of his childhood memories with them and his friends. Back then, his eyes had been brown and he could eat normal food. He could run around in the sunlight all day, scraping his knees and crying to his momma when anything went wrong. That was, until around the age of 19 he was bitten and turned into a vampire by a man named Maverick Elrod. He didn’t know he’d miss his life as a human so much, and he regrets taking up Elrod’s offer. He had been sick with tuberculosis, and he thought he’d never heal. Being turned into a vampire didn’t seem so bad because then he could be normal again—except he wasn’t. Instead, he lost his parents, friends, his humanity, and the entirety of the life he used to know all because they thought him a monster. Now, he’s finally worked up the courage to go to college, and he’s hoping his life will turn around.

Relationships: During a relationship, he makes a point to communicate whenever he’s uncomfortable with something and he won’t let his partner ignore him. If his partner doesn’t mind, he might take a sip of their blood, but he’ll stop whenever they want; it’s not intended to harm them, so he’ll be very gentle with it.
