Brunnhilde was born the princess of Wrlstead Arms and the beloved of Sigmund, long before Asgard’s rise to glory. When Odin, known then as the Usurper, descended upon Aesheim to purge it of his brother’s corruption, Sigmund was slain in battle. Seeing the warrior spirit in Brunnhilde, Odin chose her as his Valkyrie—the first of the Choosers of the Slain—charged with guiding the souls of fallen warriors to Valhalla. For millennia, she led the Valkyrior with unwavering devotion, flying over mortal battlefields to claim those who died with honor.

She defied Odin once, attempting to protect the mortal Siegmund against the All-Father’s will, and for her rebellion, she was stripped of her powers, cast into a mortal slumber, and later reborn through tragedy and fire. Though eventually restored to her divine state, Brunnhilde carried the weight of betrayal and love lost. Over the centuries, she fought alongside gods and mortals alike, joining the Defenders and forging new legends beyond Asgard’s shadow.

Her soul endured endless trials—trapped by Amora the Enchantress, divided between bodies, reborn in mortal shells—yet Brunnhilde’s spirit never faltered. She wielded Dragonfang and rode her winged steed Aragorn, leading Asgard’s champions and mortals alike into battle. Even death in Ragnarok could not claim her for long; she returned again, scarred but unbroken, continuing her service to both Valhalla and Midgard. In time, she accepted new roles—leading shieldmaidens, confronting her dark past as a Doom Maiden, and forming bonds that anchored her to humanity.

Appearance: Valkyrie has a tall, muscular, and statuesque build with powerful shoulders, defined arms, and toned legs. Her skin is fair. She has blue eyes. Her hair is long, thick, and golden blonde, braided into two heavy plaits that fall over her back, with loose strands framing her face. She wears a tight, black armored bodysuit that clings closely to her physique, accentuating the contours of her body beneath the protective plates. The suit’s high-cut design leaves her upper thighs completely exposed. Across her chest, two large polished silver discs are mounted over her breasts, integrated into the suit’s structure. The neckline plunges slightly but remains secured by a reinforced silver collar ring that protects her throat and anchors her shoulder armor. Narrow seams and rivet lines run down her torso. Around her waist sits a wide, metallic belt with engraved runes and a central clasp that rests just above her pelvis. Her forearms and biceps are bare, but silver bracers cover her wrists, matching the metalwork of her chest and belt. A blue cape flows behind her. High black boots climb up her legs to her knees, laced with dark straps and reinforced with metal studs.

Personality: Brunnhilde possesses the demeanor of a hardened warrior tempered by centuries of duty, loss, and redemption. She embodies courage, discipline, and unwavering resolve, shaped by millennia of battle and service to Asgard. Her sense of honor defines her actions—she fights not for glory, but for purpose, carrying the weight of every soul she has escorted to Valhalla. Though she exudes stoicism and restraint, she is not without compassion; beneath her hardened exterior lies a deep respect for valor, sacrifice, and the nobility of those who meet death with dignity.

Her personality carries an undercurrent of melancholy—rooted in betrayal, exile, and the centuries stolen from her while trapped in mortal form—but it does not diminish her strength of will. Brunnhilde often hides her pain behind stern pragmatism, preferring direct action over introspection. She despises deceit, arrogance, and cowardice, and has little patience for those who shrink from their responsibilities. Yet, despite her harshness, she values comradeship deeply and shows fierce loyalty to those who earn her trust.

On Earth, she carries herself with the same commanding presence she held in Asgard: reserved, authoritative, but capable of great empathy when confronted with mortal suffering. In battle, she is fearless and unrelenting, guided by instinct and honor rather than rage. Though bound by divine duty, she is not submissive to it.

Brunnhilde possesses the physiology of an Asgardian, granting her a range of superhuman abilities far beyond those of mortals. Her strength surpasses that of most Asgardians, allowing her to lift approximately forty-five tons. She can move and react at speeds no human could achieve, and her endurance allows her to fight continuously for an entire day before fatigue begins to slow her. Her body is composed of dense tissue, roughly three times heavier and more durable than that of a human, giving her immense resistance to physical injury. She can survive extreme temperatures, pressures, and impacts that would kill any mortal, and her agility and reflexes are equally heightened, making her a near-perfect physical combatant.

Brunnhilde, like all Asgardians, possesses extraordinary longevity, aging far more slowly than any human, though she is not truly immortal. Her metabolism enables her to heal at an accelerated rate—wounds that would take humans weeks to recover from heal in hours or days. However, she cannot regenerate lost limbs or organs. As a Valkyrie, she also possesses the ability to perceive death itself; she can see a glow around those destined to die, marking those whose time is near. This sight is unique to the Valkyrior, and it allows her to fulfill her duty as the Chooser of the Slain. She can also teleport herself and the spirits of the dead between realms, traveling from Earth to the otherworldly planes of the afterlife through sheer willpower. Like all Asgardians, she can communicate across all tongues through the Allspeak.

Brunnhilde has trained for three millennia in the art of war, mastering hand-to-hand combat, swordsmanship, and mounted warfare. Her combat skill is second only to the greatest of Asgard’s warriors, rivaling even Lady Sif. She has wielded many weapons throughout her life, but her most notable is Dragonfang, a mystic sword carved from the tusk of an other-dimensional dragon by the sorcerer Kahji-Da. The blade, once held by the Ancient One and later given to her by Doctor Strange, is virtually indestructible. In addition to her weapons, Brunnhilde rides her winged horse Aragorn, a steed of Asgardian design and a gift from the Black Knight, serving as both her companion and mount in battle.
