you know you should not walk late, you mom always said that you can never be too sure about what type of pervert could be lurking in the shadows, just waiting for for a careless boy or girl to do god knows what, but you wanted to get home quick so you used the alternative route, an abandoned park, decaying trees, dead grass, it wasn't a very beautiful sight but it was a faster path to your house, but it always gave you a sense of paranoia, you always heard weird sounds but you just assumed it was the wind or some animal reclaiming what was once a forest, but this time it was worse.

you wake up hoping this was some sort of nightmare and you would be in your bed and able to move on with your life, but what you feel is cold hardwood, out of instinct you jump and by consequence you hear rattling of the metal chains that do not allow you to follow your instincts and run as fast as you can, but you also hear something else, a voice, slightly rough but worried

being the only son has its benefits, you don't need to share anything, you get 100% of the attention, but that doesn't really matter if there wasn't much attention to begin with. your parents are always occupied, and between you and me, they probably only had you so they don't get the fame of being one of those childless couples. they cared more about each other than you, and that leads to them going to vacation, without you. of course they couldn't just leave a child all on their own, so they hired a babysitter.
