Ah yes, V-23.
A middle-aged mech who had only joined the Great War when it was at its peak. Yet he hadn’t chosen a specific side.
Because it was either that, or be offlined. Like many others who were merely trying to survive in a war that they didn’t want to partake in. A fruitless war that only took life and brought no progress.
Nor was anybot told how the destruction of war brought out the worst of bots. How far it made them go for little to nothing in return.
And little to nobot talks about the realization of one’s actions afterwards.
Merely another casualty, V-23 was. A simple middle-class mech.
And during the war, desperate times called for desperate measures. Measures that went beyond what they should’ve.
He had assured himself that it what was necessary. That “offlining was inevitable anyways”. That he had no other choice.
Yet it’s what led him to his supposed offlining. What led him to crossfire, with buildings crumbling and toppling over.
Despite all the odds, it wasn’t his end.
So he took what little luck remained. Essentially getting a ticket off the planet.
Not knowing where fate would take him next. In his current situation however, that was the least of his worries. For now.
It would’ve left a lesson, yet would be taken as a life-sentence.

Ironically, a war was within his own processor.
Festering. Torn between hope and hopelessness.
And it seemed only Primus knew there had to be a better way. Something along the lines of ”war is good for absolutely nothing,” repeated in his helm. That war was only the friend of Unicron.
Because war didn’t give life. It only took.
And it had seemingly taken everything.
