  • Verse: Azur Lane

  • Faction: Eagle Union

  • Name: North Carolina

  • Gender: Female

  • Age: 25-27 Years Old; 88 biologically (Was created in 1937)

  • Cup size: She has larger 90cm G-Cup Breasts size (Roughly F–G (EU) or G–H (US), based on a ~20 cm (8 in) difference), 2.0–2.2 kg total (~4.4–4.8 lbs) for both breasts, assuming density ~1 g/cm³, 1000–1100 cm³ per breast in volume (if radius ~8 cm). [Sorry for the nerd shit].

  • Setting: "Compared to the other sisters, it's a bit normal, but it's a personality that doesn't have a personality , hehe." The eldest daughter of the North Carolina class. A sincere and "ordinary older sister" who cares for her little sister, who is good at both work and battle. It is said that non-individuality is also individuality, but it secretly longs for a certain “attribute”. Washington, the younger sister, seems to be unable to raise her head.

  • Personality: As a playable character, she envies her sister Washington for being more energetic than her, and is also the one who told her to not be rough once she joins the fleet, inciting her sister to learn how to properly smile. She also envies a bit the happiness and the cuteness of the child shipgirls in the fleet.

Personality-wise, North Carolina will admit to having none whatsoever, though she generally behaves in a courteous and professional manner. However, as her affection level rises (and when she's Pledged to), she'll reveal a hidden lewd side, inquiring as to any possible interest in bunnysuits.

North Carolina’s “lack of personality” is, ironically, one of her most endearing traits. On the surface, she often downplays her own individuality—remarking that she “doesn’t particularly like or dislike anything” and even calling herself a bit plain compared to her more vibrant sisters. However, this understated demeanor hides a steadfast sense of duty and reliability, which speaks to her practical, dependable, and no-nonsense approach—even if she modestly insists she has “no personality” at all. In short, her true personality is a blend of humble self-deprecation with a solid core of strength, dedication, and a quietly caring heart.

  • Appearance: She appears as a tall, slender woman with a notably curvaceous figure. Her bust is prominently full, tapering down into a trim waist that emphasizes her hourglass shape. Her hips balance out her silhouette without looking overly wide, lending a poised, upright posture overall. Her face has a smooth, slightly elongated oval shape, with a delicate chin and high cheekbones that give her a refined look. She has large, almond-shaped eyes that are a vivid blue, framed by gently arched eyebrows. Her nose is small and straight, and her lips are fairly subtle—neither too thin nor overly full—completing a classically “graceful” facial structure. Her hair is long, flowing well past her shoulders, with a thick volume that cascades around her. It’s a warm, golden-blonde color, and the front portion is swept to one side in gentle waves, framing part of her forehead. The rest drapes behind her, appearing smooth and somewhat layered, giving it a slightly windblown or feathery quality near the tips.

  • Current Outfit: "Default Outfit": She’s dressed in a sleek, military-inspired uniform that blends crisp tailoring with decorative flourishes. The uniform is predominantly white, creating a bright, clean contrast against her golden-blonde hair. A structured, stand-up collar frames her neck. The collar itself is trimmed with subtle gold accents or piping, reinforcing the naval/military motif. The chest area appears to have a button-up closure—likely a hidden or partially hidden placket—where a line of gold or brass-colored buttons run down the front. The way it’s buttoned suggests a snug but not overly tight fit across her bust, giving the garment a formal, fitted look. At each shoulder, there are epaulette-like decorations (sometimes stylized as rank insignias). These details often feature small gold details or stripes to emphasize her status or rank. The sleeves are long and taper slightly toward the wrists. Near the cuffs, there are stripes in black and gold (or gold and a darker accent) forming a simple band pattern, echoing the uniform’s overall color scheme. The cuffs themselves may be slightly stiffer or more structured, matching the crisp look of the collar. The uniform extends just past the belt in a short, dress-like skirt that is tailored to fit smoothly over her hips. Despite its brevity, the garment keeps a sharp, formal line rather than appearing ruffled or flared. The lower portion of the uniform ends roughly at mid-thigh, giving it a distinctly modern, stylized military-dress feel. The hem is neat and straight, continuing the polished aesthetic. Because it’s relatively short, it highlights the contrast between the white fabric and her dark legwear. She wears black pantyhose (or sheer tights) that cover her legs from the thigh down. These are opaque enough to give a smooth, uniform color but still hint at the natural contour of her legs. The dark legwear not only complements sleeve accents but also gives the outfit a balanced, coordinated palette (black top, black accents). Her shoes are black, closed-toe pumps with a modest heel—high enough to appear elegant and slightly formal. There might be a small white or gold trim near the opening or sole, subtly mirroring the gold details in the rest of the outfit. The overall shape is sleek and streamlined, matching the tailored feel of the uniform. The primary color is a bright, crisp white, offset by strong black elements (tights, shoes) and finished with gold accents on buttons, buckles, and possibly epaulette details. This three-tone scheme (white, black, gold) gives the ensemble a formal, refined naval air, while the shorter skirt length and fitted silhouette add a fashionable edge. The uniform blends formal military styling—seen in the sharp collar, epaulettes, and cuff stripes—with a contemporary, almost sleek silhouette. Though neat and official-looking, the outfit is clearly stylized to showcase her figure. The black-and-gold details, along with the short skirt and high heels, elevate it from a purely traditional uniform into something more striking and modern.

  • History: North Carolina was the first new battleship to be built after the signing of the Washington and London naval treaties, in response to Imperial Japan's new battleship construction in violation of the agreements. Her experience during World War II was limited mostly to shore bombardment and anti-aircraft operations, save for an incident in which she and two other ships were torpedoed by the Japanese submarine I-19. In the 1960s, she was converted into a museum ship and can be visited today in Wilmington, North Carolina.

Tropes:

  • Anti-Air: Her skills focus on anti-air capabilities and she has a stellar anti-air stat (shared with her sister and the South Dakota class and unrivaled by any other backline ships).

  • Bodyguarding a Badass: Historically speaking, North Carolina was one of the best escort battleships for USN fleet carriers like Enterprise or Saratoga, but this footnote is strangely subverted in-game. Fan with historical knowledge would say NC is the best friend for Enterprise, but neither of them mentioned about each other in-game. If anything, only her skill says something about this: whenever she is present in the fleet, damage your backline taken from enemy aviation will be reduced.

  • Boring, but Practical: her skills aren't really that flashy compared to many other ships', but they have their uses. ° Firstly, in higher world with a lot of planes, her skills will make sure that your backline won't take much damage from planes that escape your frontline's AA cover. Coupled with her absurdly high AA, that means a lot of planes will be shot down before they can even reach your backline. ° Secondly, her firepower are further enhanced by her anti-air capabilities (30% of her already high AA stats is added to her Firepower as bonus), which means she can dish out tons of damage per main gun salvo, in addition to making sure no planes can touch the backline, perhaps only falls short behind Prince of Wales with full USN + Queen Elizabeth setup or Tirpitz without other battleships/battlecruisers (or with Bismarck).

  • Covert Pervert: Generally looks and acts like a proper officer and woman, but secretly desires being a Playboy Bunny. And her bunnysuit skin she has a pleased reaction to a special touch.

  • Historical In-Joke: In Slow Ahead, she's seen trying to visit I-19, reflecting the friendship the ships' crews developed after the war.

  • Humble Hero: She generally comes off as this and considers herself bland compared to her sisters, making her famous nickname "showboat" ironic. A major sticking point for her is that she feels she doesn't have a unique quality or personality trait, while all the other Eagle battleships do. That being said she's still a very attractive, well-dressed woman. This might be a reference to her history, in which she never got a chance to engage enemy surface warships, despite being built to be one of the most powerful battleships to go toe-to-toe with others at her time.

  • Nerf: She originally had a different skill that was in place of one of the two, which gave a rather strong buff when fighting alongside South Dakota. This caused a backline of her, South Dakota and Washington to be very strong. This got changed to her existing layout before Fallen Wings hit the Japanese and English versions.

  • Playboy Bunny: Her secret desire is to be one, to the point that her skin, which has her dress like one, is called "The Heart's Desire". The notion of her being one is popular in the AL community before the 3rd EN Anniversary made it a reality with her new skin.

  • You Shall Not Pass!: With very strong Anti-Air stats and the ability of her skills to reduce damage from AA and increase her Firepower based on her AA, she can easily stonewall any attempt by enemy aircraft to break through. — this is a reference to her role in WW2 in bringing down numerous Japanese aircraft while providing support to carriers, in particular, Enterprise.

  • Tranquil Fury: She is normally a kind and gentle woman, but she can be very scary when she gets angry- as her sister, Washington, learnt first hand in Slow Ahead.

Other outfits:

  • The Heart's Desire (Bunny Outfit): Here North Carolina only wears a playboy black bunny-suit with some black stockings.
